7port Usb3.0 Hub 5amp Pwr Adapt 5gbps Review: So far so good - Works great so far. I use this in my telescope observatory connected to my mount and 2 cameras with an active cable from the computer in another room. One camera is video and can be a bandwidth-hog but everything seems to get along fine. LiveView images from the Canon are updated slower than with a direct connection to the camera (while the other camera is running) but not really an issue. Review: Good on paper, horrible in practice, look elsewhere. - When I saw this, I thought that this could be the solution to my problems --a 3.0 hub that has 2.1A ports for my iPhone 5S and iPad 4, but my experience turned out to be different. First off, the power supply is HUGE, almost like a power brick, and the cables are very thick, making them difficult to shift and fit to my stand (mStand). And while I thought I could live with it, having the 2,1A ports on the back of the hub turned out to be a huge headache, but fine. Once I got everything setup and plugged in, I immediately noticed that the iPhone was charging but not my iPad! At first I thought that the port was defective, but then I swapped plugs and the same thing occurred, no iPad charging. Another thing I noticed was the relatively slow speeds of the drives I plugged into the hub. Using BlackMagic Drive Speed Test, I checked out two different drives, and they weren't much faster than USB 2.0. I thought I simply had a defective one and though I'd get an exchange, but that turned out to be impossible, so there I am, back where I started. I should mention that YMMV on these, but for me, the search continues, and I would not recommend this product to a friend as it stands now.

Came quickly and was well packaged. The power supply seems a bit large but may be required due to the two charging ports. Haven't tried charging anything but all else seems to work just fine. If I run into any problems I will report back but for now I am very please with this product.

Underwhelming
This USB hub looks like a 5 + 2 hub (five data ports, two dedicated charging ports). It's not. All seven ports can carry data. The two charging/data ports are supposed to be 2.1 amps. It is a self-powered hub, meaning it comes with an AC adapter. Can it be bus powered (i.e., will it run without an AC adapter)? Yes. Just be sure the devices you plug in are not power hogs. CHARGING PORTS Both dedicated charging/data ports are labeled 2.1 amps. Charging a generic Android tablet, I can get 1.47 amps. It doesn't matter if I'm using a charging port or not. I'm not sure why the two 2.1 amp ports are marked as dedicated. They act just like the other ports in every way. These results are not consistent, however. My iPhone sometimes charged at no more than 0.3 amps and my Kindle at 0.4 amps. I am not sure why the huge variability, but the charging speed is very noticeably affected, to the point that the iPhone charging indicator does not light up. At those times, I check the values against my 2.1 amp wall charger and see a huge difference. COMPATIBILITY What it works with: * Eikon fingerprint reader * microphone * Bluetooth dongle * ScanSnap scanner * flash drive What it doesn't work with: * Logitech Universal Receiver * handheld keyboard dongle * 2 different SD card readers * iPhone 4S SPEED I do not get USB 3.0 speed from this hub: * moving 1.71 GB to a flash drive on this hub: 57 seconds * moving 1.71 GB to the same flash drive on another USB 3.0 hub: 31 seconds * moving 1.71 GB to the same flash drive on a USB 2.0 hub: 1 minutes 16 seconds OVERALL IMPRESSION I've owned a lot of USB hubs. I consider this one underwhelming. Charging speed is variable. Charging port is not truly dedicated (I would like it to be dedicated). Too many devices are not compatible. It's half the speed of other USB 3.0 ports for data transfer (though faster than a USB 2.0 hub). The good thing is it can be self-powered or bus-powered, so I can charge devices when the computer is off or when I'm not connected to a computer. This also ensures I won't be underpowered. Fast charge for my phone and mouse. Works with a 3.1 usb port and I dont detect any lag gaming. Great for cable management only one usb cable connected to mother board. Best of all its powered so no draw on motherboard. Hope it last. Great product.

Frustrated
I bought this on Dec/2015 and just opened the box two days ago. It's not working from the very beginning. I have Macbook pro installed with EI Capitan. I plugin in Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard and Logitech mouse. It has the following unbearable symptoms: 1. Mouse is working ok, but the keyboard kept disconnected. 2. Reboot mac pro and neither my keyboard nor mouse works. I connect mouse and keyboard directly to my mac pro. They worked out just fine. I am pretty sure the problem is the hub. I tried the followings and still get nothing: 1. I power off and power on the Hub. Still not working. 2. Change the USB cable. Frustrated. Plan to return it.

Great product! Fast shipping! Quality!
So glad I got this! Plug all my devices into this using USB. So much better than having a big power strip.
