Rawlings Encore Youth Baseball Glove, Black, White, Gold, 11.5 inch

I own several Wilson A series gloves, Rawlings and Nakonas (sic?) and this is, hands down, the toughest glove to break-in that I have experienced, to-date. In my humble opinion, the cause is the material used for the gold piping and the steel-like padding on the thumb that render this glove nearly impossible to break-in. And yes, I’ve tried every trick in the book: steam; manufacturer’s oils; mink oil; saddle oil; ball mallet; regular mallet; prayer; laying on of hands; exorcism; and, nothing works. I’m now using it as a light to medium Kevlar substitute.

My 9 year old picked out his new glove and loves it. It was a struggle to break it in faster though. Took it to Dicks to have it steamed and bought a glove mallet to beat it in a little. I'm sure it would've broken in over time but we were impatient!. It is nice and soft and broken in now but it was a process! Side note- depending on level of competitive play you may not be able to use this for pitching since it is white. He pitches occasionally and a few umps have made him change gloves since they don't allow pitchers to wear anything white on their arms.

My son loves his mitt! Customer service was excellent. We received the first glove with a tear so we requested a replacement. The replacement glove arrived before we can even ship back the first one. No need to break it in - son used it in a tournament a day after we received it and he was still able to catch and do some nice picks at 1st. Love the color also. Can easily wipe out any dirt and dust. Still have to play in clay but son loves this mitt so much that I doubt he will just throw it on the ground with clay.

I have had my second one of these gloves and for the second time it’s ripped out in the base of the web. Pretty certain there was no testing on this glove.

Very beautiful Glove , but still trying to brake it in.

I like the glove. Expected it to need a little less breaking in but it is getting their. However, the leather is staining very easily and that with the slow break in had and different expectation outcome than what I had in mind for an youth glove at this price point.

Great glove, takes normal break in you would expect of a quality catcher glove. Just use a small bat and some conditioning oil. You get what you pay for and this one is good!

I bought this glove for my son who is 11 but is playing 12U club ball. It's a amazing glove for the money, it is a little tough but high quality. The glove was a little hard to break in but after 2 weeks of practice it's breaking in nice. We actually has a few kids on the team purchase the same glove after seeing ours.

The glove was very good quality. Was comfortable to wear on the hand . Broke in very quickly as it was used in a softball tournament the first weekend after delivery

Bought this for my son to use as he doesn’t catch often but wanted his own glove. Little stiff out of the box once we got it broken in this glove worked great very happy

Espectacular, de cuero bueno, no es un guante premium, pero si de una excelente manufactura, muy elegante el guante.
