Will this allow me to connect wired headphones to an hmdi port on my smart television? thanks

Contact your TV manufacturer, because there should be a headphone socket that will enable you to buy an adapter that fits on the end of the 3.5 mm plug to achieve what you require?
You may have to contact a specialist HiFi audio shop search for local Hi-fi shops or stores in your area using, for example, Chrome to buy an extended corded to also attach.
 You will have to look at reviews to buy the best quality cable to obtain the relevant audio quality that you want and also to prevent electronic interference. -  I have just remembered because I don't use my external audio system that if you have an amplifier or receiver that would have headphones/earphones outputs to connect earphones and headphones to. - Don't think that HDMI doesn't matter which version (1,2, or 3) has ever been used for earphones and Headphones.

Yes it does, tested yesterday. Allows for mic and volume controls, double click  etc as well.

Does this work on the s22 ultra? I have an adapter but on the s22 it says its not supported

It was useless on my s21 ultra for my old samsung earphones with some apps, but worked okay with other apps. I bought some fairly cheap Bluetooth ear buds in the end and theyve been very good for the  occasional times i use head phones and work with all apps i have

Unfortunately I've had to also buy a bluetooth module for my good quality but old garage gym hifi aswell

Just buy it from Amazon direct, and not a seller, then it will be Genuine, if you get it from a seller, its probably mickey mouse as normal.
