I purchased at least a dozen of these after we moved into our house last fall. The previous owners had PAINTED over every single outlet and of course the paint colors were hideous. After everything was repainted it was so easy to put these on over the ugly painted outlets! This is like a miracle product! I also bought the light switch covers which are fabulous because the crazy previous owners also painted all the light switches and these products cover up all of it and make it look clean, new, and white - which I love. And I didn't have to pester my husband to do anything! I did it all myself! He even noticed it and commented on how great they look! Here's a tip - with some outlets and light switches (for that product which they also offer) you may need to losen or tighten the screws on the outlet or switch itself - this will pull the outlets further into the wall or push them further out of the wall - which you may need to get the flush fit to the face of the outlet. Also, make sure you don't over tighten the screws. I did that on one and kinda messed it up. It is much better to losen or tighten the screws on the actual outlet than to overtighten the ONE screw on this faceplate. Anyway, LOVE these. So great. You won't regret this purchase! It made all of my painted outlets and switches look brand new!

Love these and so easy to install by myself.

I painted my office a deep brown, and the outlets stood out terribly. I was going to have an electrician come and change out the outlets to black, but they still would have not matched. Painting the outlets is not a good idea, and they look terrible when they get scratched up. So, I'm so glad I found these! I sprayed these covers with a quick thin layer of black primer spray paint and then painted the covers to match my wall. Perfect way to change the color of the outlet without enlisting the help of an electrician. In the future, if I wallpaper or go a different direction and want to repaint, it will be super easy to repaint. Very happy!

Great product and makes a huge difference in the appearance of your outlets..I have 4 stars because sometimes the thickness.. some outlets will look flaws anddddd others will have a gap…

I love these things! I have an old building that serves as business and residence. It needs a LOT of work, but we're getting there. One of the things on my to-do list was rewire the outlets, because they are old and loose and the plugs fall out. Also, the outlets were yellowed and didn't match the covers. These take the place of outlet covers AND covers the old outlet so I don't have to rewire! win-win. I have timers on serveral outlets, and these didn't interfere with the timers. Nice, sleek, modern look and they hold the plugs snugly. Can't attest to the durability, but when was the last time you had an outlet cover that wore out? Would definitely recommend.

We recently updated our living room, including changing the wall colour from forest green to white. Well, as soon as the paint was dry it was painfully obvious that something needed to be done about our half-almond, half-chipped-forest-green-paint outlets. We consulted an electrician friend, who quoted $80 an hour under the table to replace 6 outlets!! (Not helped by our aluminium wiring which has a habit of being problematic when replacing things.) As I didn’t invest in the new paint job, just to have it look ugly, I needed an alternative. Enter these outlet covers! A single screw goes in the same place as the existing plate, and really cleaned up the look! And when I showed the same electrician friend, he was quite impressed, saying that few people other than electricians would be able to tell the difference. Well worth it to have an updated look at a bargain price!!

These are amazing for the money. I kept putting off changing all the outlets to white, even though it's not overly difficult, with roughly 20 in the house, it's time consuming. Incqme across these covers and figured I'd try them. Not only was it extremely easy, it looks great and is maybe 1/5th the price of buying new outlets and covers.

Great option for color change and no electrician need

I didn't even know this product existed until I saw it mentioned on a diy blog I follow. I had always been scared of the prospect of having to do electrical work to change out our super ugly yellowed chipped plates from the 80s. These were SO EASY! What a great solution. One drawback...I had to order multiple times because there's a maximum of 7 allowed at one time. A bit annoying, but still so worth it.
