Glide Gear TMP 75 Teleprompter - Laptop, DSLR, Smartphone - Carry Case, No Assembly

The Glide Gear TMP 75 Laptop Smartphone TelePrompter is a stellar product for a few reasons. The first of which is the size. I create Instagram Reels content filming in public places like coffee shops and pubs, so the form factor works perfectly with a table top tripod. It doesn't dominate the table and it's easy to move around to get the shot framed correctly. Second, the quality of the materials and manufacturing are off the charts. The rails and base plate system are fabulous and easy to adjust to accommodate a smart phone or camera, or in my case a GoPro. Third, the fabric hood is insanely easy to remove and replace to adjust the camera. Other models from different manufacturers are not as easy to setup and take down. Fourth, the included carry case is no larger than an insulated lunch bag. Very easy to carry if you're on the move. I can recommend this product without hesitation. I am thrilled by the function, the quality and the portability.

The TMP 75 was my first Teleprompter and I spent a fair amount of time reading and watching videos trying to figure out which of the Glide Gear models to get. I sent a message to their website email system because I wanted to use their Teleprompter with a WebCam, the Logitech C922 acts, and they recommended the TMP 75. It arrived quickly and when I set it up, it turns out my WebCam has a wide field of view, so it was capturing the inside of the Teleprompter. I then called the company using the phone number on their website to speak to tech support. I spoke to a person named Brian, who was extremely clear and focused on getting me a solution. The product is fairly new, so Brian told me he would call me back after some research. He didn't have a WebCam, so he got his hands on a webcam similar to mine and rigged it up with the 75. It took some creativity. Within a few hours, he sent me photographs from all angles and called to make sure that I understood the solution. I included his photos in my review, which I hope will help others with a webcam (you'll notice the webcam is upside down, so you'll want to use the Logitech Capture app with a simple checkbox that flips vertically). Customer service by a team that cares about backing their products and making sure customers can use them seems all too rare. I encourage others to consider using this company to reinforce for the company the value of that kind of conscientious customer service. One warning about the 75: the metal hooks that attach the Teleprompter to the top of your screen require a fairly narrow display. I would say approximately 1 inch in thickness. My 34 inch wide curved display is too thick so the hooks won't go around the to the back of the display, which means the angle of the Teleprompter is wrong. It is still usable on a tripod and I may use it that way. But since I'm more likely to need a tripod and won't be using the monitor hooks that distinguish the 75, I am also looking at upgrading to the TMP 100. But that is unique to my system.

I haven't tried this on my Surface laptop yet, but it works great on my desktop monitor with a webcam. The reviews about the vignette are true, but if you can adjust the positioning of your camera to be closer to the glass you can eliminate this altogether. I have the Logitech 920 that comes with an attached extender so this works great with the teleprompter. The best part about this size product is the versatility and compact size. I can easily set it on top of my monitor where I will use it the most, put it on a tripod with a DSLR camera for travel, and use it on my laptop if I need to.

I returned this system and exchanged it for the larger TMP-100 edition. The TMP-75 is a wonderful idea, but it has a couple of issues that you might want to know about. 1) If you're working with a high resolution photography camera (with video abilities), you can to get a black vignetting effect on the sides (where the teleprompter's frame actually shows in the video on the sides.) For me, it was like I had a 1" black frame overlaid on top of the left, top and right sides of the video. 2) When I tried using the MacBook Pro's 15" web camera, I suddenly noticed that I had trouble with the web camera accurately reading my facial color. It was like the computer's web camera couldn't accurately detect my face through the teleprompter apparatus, so it kept color shifting the picture. One moment, I would suddenly turn an bright orangish hue, and suddenly, it should start to color-shift me back the opposite direction until I started to look a bit like a blue smurf. Back and forth, it would color shift me, much to my frustration. I finally decided that I needed the larger TMP-100 edition, so I returned the TMP-75 and exchanged it. Overall, the TMP-75 is an excellent teleprompter (I actually really like it), but I realized that the TMP-100 is a better fit for my needs.

Not designed to be used as an attachment to you laptop monitor as shown in the product pages. The casing of the frame is in the lens frame and it's impossible to adjust. So, had to buy a separate webcam and tripod.

I love this thing. Note that I'm writing this review after 1+ year of ownership and probably 50+ videos in. It does a great job at showing me my script while enabling me to look at the camera and speak naturally. It takes some getting used to, but now I honestly leave it up on my camera full time - I love it. Reflection is perfect, and the mount (while takes some getting used to) works perfectly with my Sony ZV-e10 Camera.

The product met my expectations of practicality and quality. Great value for the money.

This siimple devise, that works best with a narrow-field-of-view webcam, has made vlogging a breeze.

The teleprompter is very solid and well made. Delivery error free and in time.

I’m using this TMP 75 with an Apple Thunderbolt monitor and it works very well. The “hangers” need to be at the top to stop the camera seeing the prompting phone. One caution. There is a sticker on the glass which is not mentioned in the manual. It took me a while to work out where the artefact was coming from!
