Remington Manchester United Durablade Cordless Electric Shaver with Storage Pouch

I love my Manchester United clippers - they worked a treat on my lockdown hair. I would not use amy other brand. MUFC!

The item comes in a smart black pull string bag with the name Remington and then the Manchester United Logo in gold at the side.It is easy to charge by just plugging into a USB port. When the product first arrived we put it on charge but couldn’t get it to work but after a few minutes of trying we tried the on and off button and off it went. It came with a leaflet showing that the item can be used for anyone aged 8 and above and can be used in bath or the shower.It is very tough made of heavy duty plastic and easy to handle. Although it is marketed for Manchester United fans it is not immediately obvious. It’s body is two toned, black top and bottom with a large area in the middle. Underneath there is a small Manchester United logo. It probably wouldn’t be a good idea to give it to an ardent football supporter who is not a Man U fan though!This is a groomer rather than a razor so brilliant for keeping your beard smart and tidy. It comes with 4 different combs, 1mm, 2mm, 4mm 6mm and each comb is marked. Just clip on the end of the blade and use the one suitable for your length of beard. It can actually be used without the combs for a clean shaven look. The groomer is fairly loud when in use but not a problem.This groomer is tough, does the job well. We can’t fault it. It also comes with a 5 year guarantee or 6 years if registered within 28 days of purchase. However, we think the £49.99 price tag is a big steep so that is why we are giving this item 4 stars instead of 5

These Remington Durablade electric shavers are very good quality general shavers so it was nice to see the football branding was discreet and not plastered everywhere cheaply making it look tacky - discreet enough for someone who isn't into football not to care about the fact its a ManU one, but not discreet enough to give to a footie fan from a rival team or for a ManU fan not to be thrilled with it! It's just a small logo on the shaver and the pouch with the corresponding colours of course but a Manchester United fan will love it and a non fan will appreciate the quality of the razor at the very least. It doesn't give the closest precision shave in the world if you're looking for smooth baby skin, but it's blade doesn't have to be replaced and is built to last for five years, can be used dry or wet and does cut pretty close for a clean and pain free shave and works incredibly well for tidying up and grooming with the various heads for beard trimming/tidying, so it's a great reliable piece of kit to have in the bathroom long term as a general shaver which is great in the age of mostly disposables and those that have to be replaced frequently. It does take a few hours to charge up but you then get around an hour's use, so it's pretty good on that front too and is also a really nice shaver to use - it feels good to hold with a non-slip easy grip and lets you be very precise for when tidying up rather than having a full shave. A great price with the combination of a know brand like Remington twinned with a branded club, this will make a great gift.

Remington have been making products like this since 1937 so it's no surprise that this item is extremely well made and works equally well.It's worth noting here that it is a 'groomer' not a shaver and won't give a clean shave. But its ideal for that 'shadow' look or for someone with a short beard.The blades never need replacing and it is very easy to clean.Recommended and good value

This is a decent groomer, not a shaver as it says on the Amazon product page, on the product packaging, it says groomer. It can "shave" but it is nowhere near a close shave you would expect from a shaver, it is more like a day-old stubble as can be seen in the photo I took.It is a very good trimmer but it is nothing special, it has very small teeth to provide a closer shave but because of that it is slower and you have to pass several times over the same area to trim to the desired length. The frequency of the teeth is adequate and it does not snag on the hair. The groomer comes with the 1, 2, 4 and 6 mm stubble combs which are perfectly fine for most beard styles, but a variable-length comb would be a better option.I used both my own groomer and this one to test how well they perform and my groomer which is cheaper and has 11 various extensions does almost a similar job to this one, with one difference being the closeness of the shave. Also due to the difference in the size of the teeth, my shaver is much faster and I do not have to pass so many times over the same area to get the same results.The cable provided seems flimsy and you have to have a USB charger of your own as it does not include one which is a peculiar choice if you want to gift this to someone elderly who might not have a USB charger with free port lying around. Also, the pouch is very thin and provides no protection aside dust. The plastic combs are very thin and I fear they might snap so easily when I am taking them off the groomer.Overall, this product is not very well made, the quality is not there for the price they are asking, it is more intended as football memorabilia than a real good groomer.
