I love this hair dryer!
I had a Revlon hair dryer that looked just like this - retractable cord, folding, same wattage. I can’t remember when I bought it - it was that old. I’m thinking it was about 15 years old because I bought it at Target when they had just opened near me which was back in 2011. Well, it finally died. I searched and searched and finally found this one. The big plus with this dryer is the variable speeds. I tried out many hair dryers on my search. All hair dryers have high, low, and off, but that’s heat. For almost all of them, the force of the air doesn’t change. Low or high heat, you still get blasted. I have lots of fine blonde hair with a loose wave and a good number of cowlicks that affect that wave differently on any given day. When a hair dryers blows hard, it blows out the wave, sucks out the moisture, and leaves my hair with no body and completely dry and lank. Not so with this dryer. Low is truly low - enough that I wouldn’t need a diffuser - which is good because (1) I hate using diffusers because they make the dryer hard to manage and (2) it didn’t come with one. This dryer gently dries my hair without sucking out all the moisture, leaving it soft and wavy - exactly how I like it. The retractable cord works really well - in fact, you have to watch you don’t get your fingers pinched when it zips up into the dryer. The rear can be unscrewed for cleaning. Folding was a little stiff and took some getting used to, but it fits perfectly where I stored my old dryer. It’s my old dryer all over again - just a little smaller which makes it even easier to travel with. And it’s teal! One of my favorite colors. I’m so glad I found this.

Great deal! UPDATED
I bought this blow dryer because I had the exact one before which lasted 10 years after being kept in my bathroom cabinet (used 6x a week) or thrown into a bag when traveling. I accidentally dropped my old blow dryer from about 2 feet off the ground while using and it turned off and wouldn’t turn on again no matter if I reset the buttons on the plug. It’s smaller than many others available but what I like most is that the handle folds and it has a retractable cord. This-like the smaller size-is wonderful when traveling. The cord isn’t as long as I’d like it to be but I understand extending the length would offset the girth of the handle it retracts into. When pushing the retract button, you’ll have to guide the last 6 inches or so back into the handle. It’s really not much to complain about and a rather small price to pay for the convenience of not having to bother w a long cord especially when packing/traveling. There’s also a cool shot button which comes in very handy when you need a quick cool off. It saves me from standing in front of the oscillating fan for a few minutes. The blow dryer has 3 speeds and does a very good job of drying even though it’s not a full size dryer. I have very long, thick hair and this dryer cut my 20 minute drying time by 5 minutes. I know it doesn’t sound like much but anyone whom dries their hair on a consistent basis knows cutting down your blow drying time by 5 minutes is extremely helpful. I was lucky enough to buy this blow dryer while on sale for $18.99. I highly recommend this to anyone especially those w small hands or whom doesn’t like to hold heavy dryers. Hopefully this one will last as long as my other one-if not longer! + I’ll update w any pertinent info Update: 2 years later and I’ve had zero issues w the hair dryer. It both folds and the cord retracts as advertised.

So much to love except that it doesn’t last long
Like several others I love this hair dryer for so many reasons - foldable handle, retractable cord, full power usage and fits my favorite full size diffuser. Sadly, I too have had two of these in a row that stop working after 8-10 months. I did try 2 other possibilities but I think for the price and all that I like about this one I’m on my way to ordering a 3rd one. Meantime, Conair - can you look into this issue???

The Teal Wind Machine That Made Me a Husband Christmas Gifting Pro
I bought the Conair Cord-Keeper dryer for my wife as a Christmas gift, which felt risky—right up there with buying a vacuum or a cooking utensil. But this little teal beauty turned out to be the hero of the holiday morning, just narrowly being beaten out by a Black Hills gold necklace I also gifted her. First of all, the retractable cord is pure sorcery. Instead of the usual spaghetti monster of wires living around the sink and posing significant risk of life, you press a button and zip!—it inhales the cord like a polite vacuum cleaner that went to finishing school. My wife thoroughly impressed.. I took credit as if I personally engineered it. The folding handle makes it perfect for travel, which is great because my wife can now bring salon-level power to hotels or any location where she needs to look fabulous while I locate the nearest coffee. At 1875W, this thing blows harder than my college kids arguing over politics at Thanksgiving—and yet it’s quiet enough I can still hear my beloved KC Chiefs lose yet another Christmas Day game. After the initial joy of her discovering the retractable cord, I flexed and informed her it is ALSO dual voltage—which means it doesn’t just dry hair, it crosses continents. Not since the invention of luggage with wheels has a tool expanded our travel horizons so dramatically. Suddenly Europe doesn’t look like “that place with weird toilets and tiny cars”… it looks like “where she can achieve hair perfection at 220V.” Paris fashion week?? Tokyo sushi tour?? Bring shampoo. The ionic technology is apparently very important—I don’t fully understand it, but my wife says her hair is smoother, shinier, and “less like a frightened alpaca,” which I assume is high praise. It’s also surprisingly quiet; I think I already mentioned being able to hear the TV while this drier is ionically fired up. Color-wise, the teal is classy without screaming “I was an impulse buy in the airport.” And it’s light enough that she can wield it like a professional stylist instead of doing overhead press at the gym. Bottom line: My wife loves it, her hair looks amazing, and I’m now batting 1.000 in the gift-giving league. If Conair makes a version that also remembers anniversaries and takes out the trash to perpetuate my temporary Christmas hero level gifting, I’ll buy two. Five enthusiastic, well-dried stars.

Read the Directions!
This dryer is an exact replacement for the same model that I have owned for years, but thought had died when it would not turn on, even after pressing the reset button. What I failed to do was read both the printed directons (long ago misplaced) and the engraved instruction (see photo) that are molded onto the front of the saftey plug. After following the instructions that came with the new dryer, my old dryer came back to life. What did I do wrong? 1. I failed to UNPLUG the drier and be sure it was cool BEFORE replugging it in. 2. When I plugged the dryer again, I failed to press the Test button, BEFORE pressing the Reset buton. Failing to do so the reset button wouldn't work. Correctly pressing the yellow reset button first, caused the blue reset buton to click fully out and operate. Although I personally don't usually take the time do this, the instructions molded onto the saftey plug advise you to press the yellow test button EVERY time you plug it in. When you do this, you should hear the blue reset button click outward. Now press the reset button and the dryer should work. On the other hand, should you press the test button and see, while doing so, an LED, located just above the test button, momentarily flash, your dryer has developed an electrical fault. A cause for this might be pulling the cord out too far, beyond the red line on the cord and putting traction on the internal end of the cord. (This did happen to me.) If so, retract the cord to the red line and press test again. Hopefully it no longer will flash when you push test again. If it doesnt flash, it safe to then press reset and use the dryer. However, if the LED still flashes, there is a more permanent electrical problem. Then DO NOT press reset and attempt to use the dryer again. (My older Conair dryer, which I am now keeping for a back up, doesn't have this LED test light on the plug.) BTW, if you follow the instructions EXACTLY, you shouldn't have any problems with the recoiling of the power cord, even after years of service. Do NOT press the recoil button and expect the cord to quickly wind itself back into the drier. It won't. You must press the red retract button and hold it down, while you hold the cord and feed it SLOWLY into the drier. This means you have one hand holding the drier and the button, while your other hand is holding and feeding in the cord. It works almost every time. If it doesn't, and you have done all this, it could be that the cord was not pulled out sufficiently to created the tension needed on the spring that does the recoiling. . (There is a red mark on the cord to show how far to extend the cord .) If it doesn't work on a first try, just pull the cord out again, and repeat, being sure to feed the cord slowly back in. There have been complaints that this feature didn't work or failed to work after a while. I am guessing people were just pressing on the buttom and letting the cord attempt to fly quickly into the drier. It will, but only partially. Perhaps, this damages the mechanism over time. My new drier's cord recoil strength is just as good as my old drier. While I haven't had the new one years, I can't imagine it won't hold up as well. The only difference I can see between the new and old drier, besides the LED on the saftey plug, is the place of manufacturing. The new one is made in Cambodia, while the old one was made in China.

Dangerous! It now lives in the garbage where it belongs!
Pre-Covid, I travelled a lot. My little travel dryer lasted for years, but I decided to treat myself to a new travel dryer. Alas! You get what you pay for, no? The 2 features that attracted me to this particular hairdryer (the fact that it folded in half and the retractable cord) resulted in me throwing the thing in the garbage can. First, I could not unfold the hairdryer. I looked on the Conair and Amazon websites—also searched online and these are common problems with this particular model. I read a bunch of complaints but found no resolution to my problem. In any case, my husband was finally able to unfold the thing but then we were never able to fold it back down to be compact. The retractable cord was also an issue. When you press a button the cord is supposed to retract into the hairdryer. I thought this would be a great feature! But it turned out to be really dangerous! I’m surprised the company has not been sued! (I’m not the sort of person who sues people for stuff like this, but I can only imagine that others will!). The issue is that the cord snaps back so quickly that if you are not super careful the heavy end, the part that you plug into the wall, could really do some harm. In fact it DID do some harm to my wrist. I pressed the retractable button and the cord flew back so fast that the plug smacked my wrist. Ouch!! (Actually it hurt way more than just an ouch! And I had a bruise the next day on my wrist bone. ) As if that were not bad enough, the cord does not even completely retract. Well at least it didn’t on mine. No matter what I did the cord would only retract so far—leaving about 8 inches of cord dangling from the base. I really did not have the time or patience to fiddle with a machine designed to make things easier and I resent the 40 minutes I spent troubleshooting a new hairdryer. And I rarely write reviews—but DO NOT buy this hairdryer, especially if you have kids or dogs nearby. It’s truly dangerous and I expect it will be recalled once someone loses an eye from the flying cord. Sorry for the negative review. I ended up buying a more “traditional” and more expensive hairdryer. Yes, from Amazon. Be careful folks!

Must have features, dual settings, retractable cord and folds to space saving size.
Great compact hair dryer with a retractable cord, dual settings and folds to a space saving size. I had a hair dryer similar to this one for many years. After I wore it out I searched for a replacement and could not find the same brand with similar features. Stumbled upon this one on your web site and snatched it up! I should probably get a second one, but my last one lasted 15 plus years so hopefully, I'll not need another one

Nice features but not reliable
I've purchased this multiple times because it has a retracting cord and a foldable handle. That said the first one that I had lasted probably 5 years. The second and third ones that I've had have lasted less than 2 years and they just stopped working as others have noted. Just bought the fourth one and I wish I could find something else that also had a retractable cord and foldable handle but I haven't been able to find it yet. If this one dies within 2 years I'll have to switch brands.

Excelente producto!

Keeping it simple, compact and tidy.
If you are a fan of efficient and tidy gadgets, then you will like this blow dryer too. Cord extends 5 ft., which is enough for me (considering where my outlet is located), but length might be a factor for others. Cord retracts easily by pushing the button on the side and near the top of the dryer . Handle folds up for easy and compact storage/packing. What you see is what you get (no extra attachments). This dryer is a reasonable weight and not as heavy as many others I have had over the years. Two heat/speed settings and a cool shot button are all I need, but others may prefer more choices. Has dual voltage switch for worldwide use. I ordered this dryer in turquoise/teal, which is a lovely, subdued shade (not neon, tacky or harsh looking). The lint trap isn't removable, but will be easy to clean by wiping or using a vacuum. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase for home use and I look forward to how compact, convenient and tidy it will be for travelling as well.

Hair today, dry tomorrow
I love this hairdryer! It has power and the heat settings are great. The high setting is not too hot and the low setting is just right. I love the fact that with one press of a button, the cord winds up automatically, as well the handle folds for storage or travel. The reason I gave it 4 stars on light weight is because I have bad hands and personally I find it a little heavy. I would recommend this product
