Its a plus that it comes as a two-pack which ensures ill always have a backup. These lanterns are very durable, easy to use, and a must-have for survival gear or camping trips.

Easy to use. It also came with batteries. This was great because we unboxed them at the campsite and we were able to use them immediately. I have since used them multiple times and they still are very bright.

These are the best lanterns I have bought. I have purchased these 2x already. Love the size & how bright they are. I have used them for when we have lost power. Definitely worth buying.

I picked these up on a lightning deal during Black Friday, Cyber Monday, I don't remember exactly, sometime during that time period. In the pictures it looks like they might be metal, but they are actually made of plastic or as the cell phone manufacturers say these days polycarbonate. They feel very durable, although I don't know if they will tolerate being dropped on a hard surface. The exterior will probably be fine, but there are a lot of internal parts with those LED lights inside. One thing I noticed is I'm not sure if the batter compartment (or the lights themselves) are sealed to be water tight. As expected, Amazon got them here quickly and in great shape.These things are bright. Much brighter than, for example, the Black Diamond lantern I have that uses AA batteries. They are also fairly large, which for my purposes is just fine. There are other options out there that are more portable, but these throw out enough light for a campsite, which is nice. They run fine on Eneloop batteries. I don't have an estimate on run-time yet.The biggest drawback that I see is that they are not adjustable in terms of power. You turn it on by pulling up and out of the base, exposing the LED lights. You can dim the lantern by pushing it further into the base, but that doesn't save you any power because all the LEDs are still lit. Sometimes, you don't need quite that much light, and having some sort of dimmer or power adjustment would allow it to operate much longer if you choose.Overall, great value for the money spent. If they could come up with a version with a dimmer or perhaps lights up fewer of the LEDs and maybe seal the battery compartment, those would be the only improvements I could ask for.

Bought these after an evening of no power and no room light. With the light open, lights 360 degrees nicely. Bright. But, not heavy plastic. I would not expect them to tolerate being dropped too many times.

ITEM:Etekcity Battery Operated Lamp (2 Pack/Black)PROS:Comes with the batteries already inserted, so you just have to twist the bottom off the battery compartment to remove the little clear tab so they'll turn on when you lift up the top. You can vary the brightness by lifting it up all the way or just part way. And it has two metal handles, so you can hang them up or carry them. Light is nice & bright. Compact size made them easy to pop in my tote bag, and the way it turns on only by lifting the body of the lanterns up means no accidental button pushes, and it's not loose, so wouldn't just slide up & on in my bag.CONS:While you can control the dimness by controlling how much of the light is exposed, in not sure if the LEDs that aren't exposed are also actually on, though not visible when only partially open. If they are all lighted, it means it won't necessarily save battery power just by having them partially open.FINAL THOUGHTS:There were several choices with similar camp lanterns, but I chose this one even though the others had more in their sets or a slightly cheaper price with coupon, etc. This one was still a better deal, price-wise, since it came with batteries, was a 2-Pack, and arrived super fast. Sometimes, those factors make it worth paying a few extra pennies. They provided the exact lighting I needed for my project.

Love these, easy to grab the handle in the dark and it just takes a simple upward tug to turn the light on, no buttons or dials to feel for. It's VERY bright too, pretty blinding even in daylight. I have one in my room and another downstairs so there's one nearby wherever I am the next time the power goes out.
