Why is there folic acid added alomg with folate?

Pure Encapsulations - PreNatal Nutrients contains 600 mcg 5-MTHF and 400 mcg folic acid. This is to ensure that it offers the standard of care folic acid for this sensitive population. Folic acid is the standard of care for pregnancy regardless of specific genetic variation. Pure Encapsulations - PreNatal Nutrients is designed to offer standard of care folic acid amounts along with 5-MTHF for individuals with the MTHFR genetic variants.

Pure Encapsulations manufacturer their own products in their own state-of-the-art plant in Sudbury, Massachusetts. Pure Encapsulations is NSF-GMP registered in the U.S., GMP certified in Canada and exceeds the standards of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP).

On the website it shows the product as having l-5-mthf and folic acid but this photo just shows folic acid. which one is accurate?

This formula has 1 mg of folate from folic acid and Metafolin® L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF), the naturally occurring, universally metabolized form of folate. We will update the photo. The complete listings of ingredients is as follows:
