the over all size in inches depends on the size of the sock since it has a healfor the sock that is Size: 10-13 / Shoe: 6-12.5from the heal to the knee runs about 15 inches long

We have been buying Gold Toe over the calf socks for many years. These ones are about 2 inches longer that previous ones. is this a new option? is

I'm not aware of a new option, but keep in mind there are two sizes for the 3-packs; 10-13 (Shoe Size 6-12.5) and 12-16 (Shoe Size 13-15). Maybe you were sent the wrong size. I always keep my packaging so I can verify product information.

I would classify them more of a medium weight, not a light weight. They are a great book sock though.
