UltraShield EX Insecticide & Repellent, 32 fl oz Sprayer

I bought Absorbine UltraShield EX to use on my dog, Walter, after learning that insect repellents intended for humans should not be used on dogs. I live in a coastal area where mosquitoes can be particularly bad, and during mosquito season Walter would sometimes be swarmed by them. At times, I simply couldn't leave him outside because the mosquitoes were so aggressive. This product has made a remarkable difference. A few spritzes on Walter, and the mosquitoes leave him alone. It works exactly as I had hoped. UltraShield EX is relatively expensive, but I have found that it doesn't take much product to be effective, so a bottle should last quite a while when used this way. The scent is noticeable but not overly strong or objectionable. Another pleasant surprise has been Walter's reaction to it. He normally reacts negatively to just about anything being sprayed or squirted on him and will cower when he sees it coming. The first time I used this spray, he wasn't happy about it, either. Now, however, he doesn't seem to mind it at all. I can't know for certain, of course, but I sometimes wonder if he has figured out that the spray is what keeps the mosquitoes from biting him. For me, the real test is simple: before using this product, mosquitoes could make it difficult for Walter to spend time outside. After a few spritzes of UltraShield EX, they leave him alone. It may be expensive, but because I only need to use a small amount at a time and it works so well, I consider it worth the price.

I was getting eaten alive by mosquitos, so I sprayed this around the area I was working in in the yard and the bugs disappeared immediately. It works amazing. I'd considered giving it 4 stars for a couple of reasons: #1) it's pricey for a bug spray #2) the entire bottle only covers a pathetically small area. #3) it doesn't seem to last nearly as long as it says In the end though, the stuff works so amazingly well and 4 stars is unfairly the mark of "almost junk" so I left it at 5 stars. 4.5 is probably a better rating if I could.

I have always use UltraShield and usually buy it by the gallon, but I needed a new sprayer so I bought this one. The spray nozzle is great; it sprays in a straight line which is great for legs. You can aim it and it sprays where you want it not into the air.

Im so happy I came across this product. For some reason flies kept bothering my dog. Even after grooming him. I tried all kids of safe sprays and shampoos. Nothing worked. I figured I give this a try. No more flies or any kind of bugs. I also sprayed trash cans. Doors... I hate flies, mosquitoes...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

I had flies in the carport area that I could not get rid of for several months. I came across this on Amazon and figured it was worth a shot. It has a very strong citronella smell and takes more than one application for maximum results, but within 2 weeks we barely have any flies. Well worth the money!!!

This product works! I’ve used many insecticides for pets and got poor or mixed results. This is the first one that really works. I take my dog to a park and there are days when the flies infest my dog I spray a light mist over his paws and back, not one fly also works on fleas and ticks. It’s amazing.

The only thing that would make this work better is if we actually put ourselves on a schedule to apply at regularly. The dogs don’t like the sound of the spray so we have to hold them still while we put it on them or do it while they’re running past us. However, I do find it to be highly effective.

My poor goats were chewed up by deerflies and mosquitos; all I had was the spray made for children, which didn't do much. Tried this and it lasted a week! NO flies or skeeters, and I love the spray head which allows you to rotate it to a vertical, horizontal, or off position; the vertical makes it easy to avoid the eyes. It's a bit strong-smelling, but when I petted them the next day, my hands didn't smell bad. There were no apparent ill effects. It's not the cheapest but I think I'll stick with it.
