Globe Electric Novogratz x Globe Harrington 65" Floor Lamp, 2-Tone Faux Wood Base, White Fabric Shade, Socket Rotary Switch 67225

I don't think I've written a review before, but I am now. (First, sorry for the pic - my phone is charging so I don't a camera.) I am a connoisseur of table and floor lighting - so much so that I have a storage unit where many are housed - I just don't have the space. That said -- this is an OUTSTANDING lamp. Design is gorgeous, quality you can feel in the materials and craftsmanship. It is heavy and strong. Slight edit - the listing was $107 when I put it in my basket, but I waited a day or two and they priced it down to a 'special' at $78. So, maybe that's an amazon tactic to get you to buy. :-) Easy to put together - took ten minutes without instructions. I have the color-changing bulbs, so I have the flexibility to get the lighting just right. Unsure how it fares for standard bulbs. The outside of the shade and the base are definitely black - unlike a review I saw that said they were gray. Do note - the inside of the shade is more matte-silver. I think I thought they were gold based on the lamp turned on - maybe is was the bulb/light color. Just know it's not gold/brassy. HOWEVER, the stem IS brassy - so it is just a beautiful lamp. The pulls for the bulbs hang down slightly far - a little odd - but nothing bothering. And they're heavy and strong - doesn't feel like a solid-tug would make them break free. Keep in mind that the shade is closed at the top. You can see in some of the pictures. If you're looking for something to light up a whole room - both up and down, this isn't your lamp. But, note, while the light is directed down.... is isn't just STRAIGHT DOWN. It casts wide - a product of the bulbs being closer to the bottom of the shade. Obviously, enclosed at the top means you don't see the bulbs when you're walking by - I'm 6'1 and that often happens and is annoying. As for seeing the bulbs when sitting near the lamp, as long as the lamp is 14-18 inches away, you don't see the bulbs from underneath. Finally, for the price, this lamp is an outrageous value. Like I said, I'm a lamp-lover, and have lamps 5x-10x as much as this. I'm ordering another one for my office at work. PS: Not to bag on the marketing department, but this lamp is not merchandised very well. They could show it off so much better in the photography. and lumping it in with these other lamps with shades does a disservice to how unique and awesome this lamp is. PPS: I am not being paid for this. lol

Beautiful, mid century modern inspired lamp! Super substantial, well made, & easy to put together. This lamp comes off way more expensive than it actually is. A great designer store look for a fraction of the price. Mine did not have any paint issues.

I took off 1 star for the same design flaws many other reviewers mentioned: - The wood grain print, although gorgeous, doesn’t line up from one section to another. It still looks like real wood; just made and assembled in 3 pieces. It was packaged very well and mine arrived blemish free. It definitely has some weight to it, feels sturdy, and stable. (No wobble at all) - The shade is too white, just balances on the bulb socket, and is hard to keep level. (A drop of hot glue could remedy that.) The bottom of the shade sits about an 1” too high and you can see the socket if you’re sitting close. It might limit where you place the lamp in your room, if that bothers you. Like others, I’ll shop for a new shade, but in the meantime, I’m going to try recovering it in a light, linen fabric I have. Since it’s a straight cylinder, it could be an easy, temp fix. - The height feels a little tall next to a sofa or chair, but maybe that’s just my furniture. Overall, it blends beautifully with my Danish modern/Scandinavian decor. It’s a stylish addition to my room and I love it.

Great, sturdy, beautiful floor lamp. I did change the lamp shade because it's huge and didn't fit with the seize of my other lamps, but that's me.

This is a GREAT lamp!!! Looks just like the photos. It was packaged carefully and arrived in perfect condition. It’s got a cool MCM look. Some people noted that the light bulb sits close to the top of the shade. Ours did too at first until we realized we had the shade upside down!! So just flip the shade if this happens to you. WE ARE SO VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE!!

Stylish and was a great update to our living room, especially for the price. Nice big drum shade and heavy base.

I was pleasantly surprised as I tend to always read so many reviews and some were saying the difficulty they had putting it together, the lamp shade coming damaged. Well I kept my fingers crossed as returning a heavy item is never fun. I put it together in less than 20 mins it was really self explanatory. The light that it gives off is nice not over powering and not to dim. Con: Metal ( my bad) didn’t read that section. Overall I couldn’t get over the metal and in the area I wanted it wobbled that maybe my floor anyway I returned it.

This is a great lamp. Exactly as shown. Strudy and won't tip over. Elegant look and good quality.

The wood grain pattern on the lamp was uneven so I returned it. Solid lamp with easy returns though.

Firstly this thing is huge and made of metal! Dimensions are wrong. Shade is 18W x 13H - beware if you have a tight corner. It's heavy and will not fall. Packed entirely in styrofoam which is now all over my apartment -not sure how anyone recieved a damaged one. Faux wood looks great. Mine didn't screw together straight, so has a lean. The "joins" where is screws together could fit better and my eye is drawn to this part of the pole when lamp is on. Would be better is the shade was not polar White, but beige. Switch is only on/off. Am considering returning or buying a new shade.

The lamp is gorgeous, well-made and easy to assemble. The only downside was I was a little disappointed because the shade was damaged (see second photo) and it's unique sizing makes it difficult and costly to replace. Amazon Customer Service was helpful in trying to find a replacement, but with no luck, they instead refunded me a percentage of the original purchase price which was a nice alternative.
