Would this product be suitable to build an outdoor wood fired oven ?

Yes. This product is used in fire pits, wood and gas fire ovens or anywhere that can get up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. I used it to line a coal blast furnace for smelting aluminum. It can be used with fire bricks and is used inside the furnace or oven and chimneys.

Can I use this to lay firebricks in a wood burning oven which gets to 1000 degree Centigrade?

You may need fireclay mortar from a masonry supply. This is only fireclay. I used it in a mix for refractory cement in a foundry furnace .

does this product require heat to cure?

not in my experience.....long cure. however, if using fire cement, i believe heat is required.
