When I use a Havahart (large, rat size), small immature rats are able to go in and get the bait without triggering trap. How sensitive is Ratinator?

It closes behind them after they enter. And the bait cannot be accessed by the rats inside. So it remains an effective lure for more rats.

Will this catch mice too, or are they too small?

I have a camera on the trap and the mice go in, then squeeze out through the grid with ease. So I'd say mice are too small.

Does this trap come with the "tub"?

yes, it does! I have no idea why though! can anyone explain what the tub is for? It has to be placed outside the tub for them to go in! My guess is to allow them to eat from the bait station first so that they will lose their fright of the trap and once you take it out of the tub then they may go in easier! It just seems to me they could have put a door over the entrance to lock and they could still go to the bait to eat and not be caught!

The hole they go in is necessarily small, how to you get them out after you drown them in the trap? Does the whole thing come open somehow?

Hi JKL, Rats will enter and exit the hole without any problems. You simply open the hatch to humanely let them out if you wish.
