Weight is around 8 ounces. Is shipped in a 7" or 9" bubble envelope.

Is it sturdy enough for a 120-lb adult to hold on to float in the pool?

Yes! I'm about 140lbs and I used it multiple times during the summer without issue. However, you'd more hang on to it or float with that and another float because of the way it's made (rounded not flat to lay out on).
