Did not work at all! Steer clear!
Purchased the product as a Christmas present and it was a huge disappointment. After assembling it with my son he was quite disappointed that it did not work at all. Neither track functioned, cars did not move at all. Checked installation and connections several times and still absolutely nothing. I consider myself rather handy and capable at putting together and installing things and have at least a general knowledge of basic electronics and electricity so I find it unlikely that there was an error on my end. For simple technology that has been around for decades I expected much better. For the price point I did expect some issues with durability or longevity but did not expect that the set would not function at all. If it had functioned, the track itself seemed sturdy enough although the controls seemed kind of flimsy and unlikely to hold up over time. I can not recommend purchasing this based on my experience.

Unhappy Grandmother
I put it together and it doesn't work . checked the directions and reviews and realized it has 1 ratings. I am very angry and so is my grandson. I want full purchase price returned.

Not great
My kid had fun with it while it lasted, so I can't rate it zero, but it was a lot more trouble than it was worth. For starters, I didn't read the description closely enough, I thought it was like the ones I play with when I was a kid that plugged into the wall. I had to spend $20 on batteries to get this thing to run, and they lasted 2 days. Also, the cars just kept breaking down because their electrical contacts were shorting. Finally, there wasn't really much of a challenge, as the point of slot cars is that using too much power flies you off the track, but these ones couldn't go that fast. I'll be looking for a vintage one.

Great Idea
I was excited to give this to my little nephew. I even put the batteries in it beforehand and did a test run just to make sure it worked. The track pieces do not want to stay connected causing failure a for the cars to run. I bought this because it was battery powered. It was a fun gift but as with all race car tracks, patience is needed.

Not worth the money
I was so excited to give this to my 8 year old grandson. His eyes lit up with such excitement the minute he unwrapped the box. But after his Dad helped him put it together, it never worked. They followed the directions, and believe me, his Dad is an engineer, so he new how these things worked. One car didn't even move; while the other car just went a few inches and stopped. The whole toy from tracks, remotes and the cars were very cheaply made; so the price was way too high for such a toy. My grandson was so disappointed, it broke my heart. After a few tears, I decided it needed to be sent back. I was very grateful it was so easy to return. I had him pick something else on Amazon to be sent a few days later.

Ok for now
Really like it but wish it was really electric not battery another bad description. Thinking about returning it cause sometimes it just stops. Not like mine when I was a kid. The plugin connections are the problem you have to keep wiggling them very cheaply made.

Didn’t love.
Didn’t love this. It was pretty cheaply made and we ended up sending it back because one of the cars didn’t work.

If so many reviewers are complaining, there is a reason
Where to begin...Santa bought this for our 3 year old son but we hadn't gotten to it until today. I set it up this afternoon and have already dissembled it, boxed it back up, and started the return/refund process. The directions were lacking, to say the least. They contained just enough info to show you how to assemble the track into a figure 8 and maybe a few other minor tidbits. Unfortunately, this was the most intuitive part of the setup, barely requiring directions. I didn't have TOO much trouble connecting the pieces, though some wouldn't completely touch each other, regardless. The metal connectors were securely connected so I didn't sweat it. The remaining pieces included were largely left to guessing their purpose and where and how to attach them. I struggled to attach the teeny tiny black pieces that snap on the edges connecting each section. Some snapped on with no issues. Others were a little trickier but I held my breath with each one, worried I would break them. There were no directions telling me how or where to place the road supports to help one stretch cross over the other. The drawing included in the directions did not show them, nor does the pic on Amazon's listing show more than one or two of the supports. Granted, it was easy enough to deduce where they should go but since it turned out I had the wrong quantities of tall and short supports it added a layer of confusion to an already frustrating experience. Plus, the raised portion of the road wouldn't sit level regardless of how I positioned the supports so some of them weren't even resting on the table. The directions incorrectly told me to plug the remotes into the battery pack (nowhere on the pack to do that). Deduced that the remotes instead got plugged into the track piece that had a place to connect them. There also seemed to be an extra spot to connect the battery pack (again, deducing). No directions to tell me whether it mattered in which order these 3 items were plugged into the track piece so I took a guess. A quick test of the remotes seemed successful so I thought we had defied the odds I've seen posted in other reviews. Alas, it was not to be. The cars (installed correctly on the track - there were pics for that!) moved a mere inch or two before stopping during the course of several attempts, if they moved at all. I knew the brand new batteries were not an issue. I thought maybe I had plugged the remotes and battery pack into the wrong spots so I attempted rearranging them. While pulling on the plug (not the wire, mind you) of the one remote the wires came out of the plug (had to use pliers to remove the plug itself so it was really stuck in there). At that point I called it a day and started the return process. I wasn't surprised to have all this trouble but disappointed, as I'm sure we could have had a great time with it otherwise.
