Floats freely
Very cool but no way to anchor it. No loop or hole or anything. Just floats freely and I needed it to hide under my dock.

Not effective in a Swimming Pool
Purchased with the hope it would keep a group of Wild Ducks from using my heated swimming pool. The dog was put off, the Wild Ducks not at all. They became swim buddies. Might work in a pond, definitely not effective in a swimming pool.

It is very unimpressive in size
It appears real, but it is very small compared to my expectations

Realistic looking. No birds near pond since he was installed.
It is a realistic looking alligator head. I am sure it won't last very long - it's just a blow up alligator head. But I have seen no birds sitting on our waterfall - pooping in the pond since 'AL' was installed :0) I wedged him between the side of pond and a flower pot and he sort of bobs around there. The fish don't pay any attention - but I do believe he deters the birds and hopefully any other varmints that may want a fish snack.

Do you want to scare off birds around the pool?
Bought this for my sister who owns a pool. Birds were making their business all over her pool deck. Put the alligator head in the pool and they stopped. This is the second alligator head for the pool. We leave it in all summer long (live in the USA Northeast with only a summer pool weather). The chlorine, after 2/3 years, was eating the bottom of the alligator head and leaving pieces in the pool. Threw that one away and bought another. Working just great with keeping the birds away. Who knew??!!!

Took the pool back from the ducks!
Two ducks had taken over my pool. They made such a mess in and around the pool that my friends and I could no longer use it. Another review said this worked and called it Al so I call mine Alice the Alligator. When I just put her in the pool, Alice went head first into the skimmer so that didn't work. So I put a small nail at the back of her head and attached it to a fishing line. That was attached to a zinc disc and put in the center of the pool. Alice now floats around with the current and the wind in the center of the pool. Perfect, no more ducks!!!! It is now time for summer pool parties.
