Smedley & York Black Ash Bucket with Lid, 2.15 Gallon

Looks very cute next to our fireplace. The part that holds the shovel broke off but other than that, it’s been great and we’ve had it for over a year.

Just what is needed to tend to a pot bellied stove. No problems and exactly what we thought. Description is accurate.

The ash bucket, brush and shovel are a good size and work well. The bucket is very light weight and can too easily be accidentally tipped or knocked over. I am over 70 years old and at times my coordination is not good, having some more weight to the bucket would help it not to tip so easily.

It looks good next to my fireplace, I use it to hold the fire starter pellets. My FP has a built in dump for ashes… but it’s the perfect size and thickness, and easy access to remove things to outside.

Just as described, only had to put handle on so that was easy too, doesn't take up loads of space, its perfect so far!

Perfect ash bucket for our fireplace. Great quality, sturdy and durable. Not heavy to carry when full of ash and the lid keeps it from spilling or blowing out everywhere. Buying it on sale was the icing on the cake.

This bucket does a fantastic job of holding ashes from the wood stove until they can be dumped. The lid is fairly loose, just sitting on top, but there is no struggle to pop it off when transferring ashes. At first I thought the handle on the side (not the bale on top) was deformed, but then I realized it’s that way on purpose so it can hold both the scoop handle and the broom handle for a nice compact hearth tool. The bottom of the bucket is elevated by a side rim, so no danger of overheating any flooring the bucket might be set on. The black matte finish should be easy enough to touch up with stove paint if it ever gets scratched. Price was higher than I would have preferred, but need and features won out.

I purchased this for cleaning my outdoor fire pit. It will do the job but, for the price, I am disappointed in what I received. It is poor quality. It arrived misshapen, so the lid would not fit properly and/or tightly. Had to bend it so that the lid would fit correctly. It fits tight now, but so much so that it is very difficult to get on and off. Maybe bend some more? The handle also gets stuck at the hinges and does not swivel properly. I am pretty confident that it is not made of galvanized iron as claimed. I think it is made from tinplate material with galvanized iron paint/coating. It is is very thin bendable metal. It does hold quite a bit of ash which is nice. The shovel and broom are just the right size for my fire pit also. All in all, it will and has served its purpose so far but I am disappointed in what I received for what I paid.

Ce seau à cendres est solide et bien pensé. Il est de bonne capacité, ce qui permet de stocker une quantité suffisante de cendres sans devoir le vider trop souvent. La pelle et le balai fournis sont un vrai plus pour nettoyer facilement. Points positifs : Matériaux robustes, bonne qualité de fabrication. Design pratique, facile à transporter et à ranger. Accessoires utiles (pelle et balai bien adaptés). Petit bémol : Le prix est un peu élevé par rapport à d’autres modèles similaires. Conclusion : Un bon produit, fonctionnel et résistant, mais j’aurais aimé un prix un peu plus abordable. Si vous cherchez un seau durable avec des accessoires pratiques, c’est un bon choix !
