incredible cd
I am going to see Set Your Goals in 2 weeks and if they are live at 20% of this CD it will b worth it. While it takes alot to blow me away, this CD does its best to do just that. Will see if the live show does it, but I've heard it will (from reliable sources). Can't wait to hear more!!!!!!

Good album but was expecting more
Set Your Goals has two excellent albums and a good EP and then this album..their most recent work and certainly there worst in their catalog in my opinion. This album is still pretty good as a whole I was just fairly let down by it because I was expecting a superb follow up to the awesome 'This Will Be The Death Of Us' (which I rate as 5 stars) and instead I got this album. The production is not to my liking while of great quality it just lacks to punch any rawness into the mix. I am a huge Set Your Goals fans (own all their albums, many t-shirts and have seen them multiple times live) and was quite let down by this album. With that said good songs still exist on this album and they do get play on my Set Your Goals song list just not as much as the songs from the other albums. Still a good album and you should still pick it up, however I do reccomend Mutiny! or This Will Be The Death Of Honest'.1.Cure For Apathy 3/5- Ok song, enjoy it more after the fact (from original buying it and the initial first impression). Like the next song it reminds me too much of Four Year Srong who I also enjoy and have albums of its just I dont want SYG to be FYS I want them to each do their own thing in the Pop Punk genre.2.Start The Reactor- 3/5 Ok song yet again3. Certain-3/5 Better song but still not up into the 4 star range.4.Happy New Year- 4/5 Solid song. Gets the CD rolling along better.5. London Heathrow- 5/5 First song on the CD i truly loved. We're sounding a like the SYG I know and love now.6.Trenches 3/5- Ok song. Not the greatest but not bad by any means. Finds some play time on my SYG mix.7.Last American Virgin- 5/5 Awesome song. Very well done. Love it.8.Exit Summer- 5/5- Favortie song on the album9.Unconditional- 4/5- good song. Awesome lyrics, spoke to me with a current situaion in my life. Very enjoyalbe and finds time on the SYG mix10. Product Of The 80's 2/5- Worst song on the album. First SYG song ive only listened to all the way through once (about 7,000 for all other songs theyve written)11.Raphael- 4/5- Good Song. PICTURE ME NOW.....JUST WAITING FOR THE CRASH!12.Illuminated Youth- 4/5- SIC SONG!! Yet again another fav. PLay it 3 times during the drive every time I go to see SYG now13.Not As Bad-4/5- Great way to end the album. Very good song and so they go out with a bang. THe songs actually about 18 minutes long because when teh song actually cuts out (around the 5 n a half min mark) you wait some minutes (or hold the fast forward button for a minute) and you get to a hidden track which is actually pretty good too so make sure n get that hidden track in there. It starts at 18:05.

The Band Named After a CIV album is back!
Set You Goals really did a solid job this time. If I had to describe the album in one word, SOLID is exactly what comes to mind. I have listened to both Mutiny! and This Will Be the Death of us fairly extensively as well as other bands that could be lumped loosely in the same category (Daggermouth, Kid Dynamite, Four Year Strong) and I can honestly say that upon first listen I was drawn in by this album the quickest. Mutiny! was a great album in its own right and was the first thing I heard by SYG and I loved some of the songs immediatly while others took a while to get into. This Will Be the Death of us, IMO, had some great songs as well as some throw aways. Upon first listen there were about 5 songs that immediatly popped out and made me take notice. The guitar work is what you expect from SYG. The drumming feels like it has improved the most since last album. (Not that Mike Ambrose wasnt the perfect time keeper for this style of music before) The double bass is more evident on a couple of songs but fits the groove of the song, and don't worry, its not over laden with redundant breakdowns. I repeat! They arent putting out A Day to Remember album. Overall the album is quite vesatile and a fun album to listen to. They arent reinventing the wheel but they do a great job of sounding like them. I hope this proves helpful and if you like good, catchy, fun music ala Four Year Strong, Old Blink 182 etc than this album is worth the price of admission.

This will be the death of us" wiederspiegelte. Nun habe ich bestimmt schon 20 Mal Ihre aktuelle Scheibe "Burning at both ends" durchgehört und was soll ich sagen?

Bin begeistert! S.Y.G.
