As an aircraft mechanic, my recommendation would be that some type of lock-washer be included as part of the assembly. For now I'm willing to hand tighten any looseness if it happens. **Q: has anyone laid hardware cloth on bottom? 1/2 or 1/4 inch? any need to fasten to edges in place? (around the periphery)?** A: For the people responding about other materials, hardware cloth is basically a metal mesh "fence" a lot of times it is used to build animal cages. You can get different size holes. I lay hardware cloth down under my beds to keep the voles out. Works perfect. I just cut it a little larger than the bed then put the bed on top and fill the bed. I don't use fasteners of any kind since the weight of everything holds it all down. I used 1/2 because it's what I had already. But who knows if it’s some silica based sheet instead of petroleum based plastics. They could just mean the metal is coated and not be referring to the plastic at all.
