Baby Love: A Keepsake Book from the Heart of the Home

Sold as "Liike new with NO WRITING". I ordered this awhile ago because I love this book and it's out of print. I paid a little extra because my intent was to give it as a gift when the time came. Unfortunately, the time came and the recipient noticed right away that there was a baby's name, birthdate, and other notable things written iin the book. Total bummer and total embarrassment!Buyer beware when buying used books....especially ones that are journals. Look them over carefully when you receive them. :(

We got this book almost 10 years ago, when my daughter was born.Like many baby books, it gives you a place to jot down what happened before you were pregnant; what you did, who you told, how you told them, cravings, showers, etc.Once baby arrives, you've got places to write names of who came to visit, height & weight at different times, what baby likes and doesn't like, first teeth etc.It's a book that you can take a couple of years filling all the information in.And 10 years later, my daughter still likes to pick it up anf flip through it.It's a great companion.

This is a very pretty book, and probably has the most categories to fill in of any baby book I perused (which, for busy professionals, can be a bit daunting ...) There were two things that made me decide to send it back and to keep, instead, the book produced by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (A Baby Book for You). (Reasons that are peculiar to me, I might add, and not a reflection on the quality of the book.) First, the book is small in size. In my mind's eye, a baby book should be larger. Second, the watercolor illustrations are so faint that it frankly is hard to see them. An additional minus, in my view, is that the author's name is on the cover of the book. (This is true of the book by Linda Spivey, as well.) To me, a baby book's cover should not take "credit" away from the true authors of the book: parents and child.

I received this beautiful little book as a gift from my sister when my son was born almost eighteen years ago. I spent the first year adding little photos and notes to its pages and for every year since on my son's birthday I can't help but look back at what a wonderful time that was - see photo added.Just two days ago, the same sister that gave me this gift became a grandmother for the first time; ever sentimental, I am so glad I was able to find this book again to give as a gift to her daughter so she can have the same lovely keepsake of her new son's first year.I like that there are a large variety of sizes of spaces/shapes for photos. I didn't always take the most well composed shots back then, but there was usually *something* salvageable within a picture. With the layout opportunities in the book I could make use of just the best parts of the picture in many cases.There are also little inspirations for notes and of course the usual milestone charts and reminders.I find the illustrations by Susan Branch to be both soft and timeless.Very pleased with this purchase and happy to recommend.

Hope you republish...have bought two books...resale. Both were in excellent condition.Prices of remaining are priced too high.Will buy more when you republish.

I was given this book by my sister for the birth of my first baby and have received them for my two other children and wouldn't consider writing in anything else! There is so much room for you to write your comments and thoughts and great prompts from the author to jot down things I wouldn't have thought of. The design, drawing and writing is just beautiful. These books are treasures for all time and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Great little book for a keepsake and for a gift for any new mom. It is a very sweet book and like all of Susan Branch's books very well done and a fun book to look at and enjoy.

I have bought this keepsake a number of times as a gift for family & friends. It is beautifully made lovely sayings & illustrations in it.
