Directions 1. Kill freshly cut stumps with a brush killer. 2. Drill holes in the stump. 3. Pour Spectracide Stump Remover Granules into the holes. 4. Allow the stump to decompose for four to six weeks. 5. Remove or burn the stump once it has become porous. Safety Warning May not harm surrounding vegetation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

You have to drill several deep holes into the stump, fill them with the granules and then wait several months before you see any results. Review: Works great for chemistry. - I use this as a substitute for Potassium Nitrate as this is cheaper and is something like 89% KNO3. Note however that this works only for cruder experiments. If you need exact measurements and purity go for the real stuff. In my experiments this leaves behind some residue and obviously won't react as well as pure KNO3, though it still is pretty damn strong.

**Q: Does this contain Potassium Nitrate?**
A: Yes, this contains Potassium Nitrate.

**Q: About how many stumps (6" diameter) will one container treat?**
A: It depends on the hole you drill. I drilled fifty 1/2inch holes in a 30 inch stump. I used 3/4 of the bottle to fill the holes.

**Q: Is this only for dead stumps or will it also kill a stump?**
A: It can do both, all it does is speed up decomposition of the stump.

**Q: I have a copy cat kfc recipe and it calls for a few grams of saltpeter which is potassium nitrate which is what this is supposed to be. anyone use it**
A: For Christ's sake, just order some food grade saltpeter. It's like four bucks a pound. Don't put friggin stump remover in your food. This product (which, again, is STUMP REMOVER... for burning out tree stumps, not for eating) is NOT labeled "food grade," and may contain impurities.
