Synopsis The story you are about to read - in this 60th Anniversary of 'Victory in Japan' - is a true story, from being a young soldier in 1939 to becoming a Japanese Prisoner of War. The diary was confiscated in December 1943 and upon its return it was noticed that some pages and paragraphs had been removed. Following the journey of this young soldier - my dad - leaving the United Kingdom and posted to France (finding himself at Dunkirk), Belgium, South Africa, India, Singapore and other areas of the Far East. You will find this true story both moving and very occasionally comical.
