These sculling gloves are lightweight, super comfortable, form-fitting sports gloves designed specifically for rowing. The snug fit and silicone pattern on the palms promotes a positive grip on the oar, even when wet. The open back and lower finger design allows for cooling air flow and freedom of movement. The polyester fabric stretches laterally for comfort but not longitudinally so there is no bunching or rolling. Athletes will still develop calluses but these gloves prevent the painful blistering and ripped skin that can ruin a good row. Having your own pair of rowing gloves eliminates the need for bandaids, the expense of tape and the risk of infection - freeing you up to completely focus on your technique and the workout. For best results and long wear, wash in hot, soapy water after use and hang dry. Can also be used for erging (indoor rowing), CrossFit training, weight-lifting, kayaking, SUP boards and other paddle sports.

sooo helpful but worried about durability
My rowing coaches told us from day 1 that gloves would not be good to wear because it wouldn't work as well as bare hands. I was getting the most awful blisters it was becoming unbearable. I had blisters on top of blisters - literally - I didn't even know that was possible. I thought once I got enough callouses it would stop but 2 months into rowing I was still getting blisters endlessly and I couldn't take it any more. They are painful! And having raw open wounds on your hands all the time is a route for infection. In desperation I got these gloves. What a difference! The blisters were dramatically reduced - I still got them but just far fewer. And I felt like my grip was better, which gave me more confidence. My only concern with these is that the silicon gripper squares are coming off and I've only used them a few weeks. Doesn't bode well. I'm sidelined with an injury so can't comment on use beyond those few weeks, but I'll give another update when I get back to it.

Comfort Plus Quality Rowing Gloves Provide a Winning Workout at Gym
I bought the gloves for the gym while using the rowing machine. I wanted something very lightweight and comfortable. In fact I don’t care for a confined feeling so I looked for a pair that would be noninvasive and provide a natural feel. So my goal in buying these was to address my sweaty hands and make sure I don’t get callous’ while I row. These gloves have accomplished this and I no longer have to cut short my time rowing sacrificing quality workout time. One challenge I had was figuring out sizing. I think someone said there was a size chart in the images but I didn’t see one so I went to their website and followed directions. I have long fingers and probably wear a medium or a large in woman’s gloves. Don’t go by your normal size for these because I am actually a small and the fit turned out to be just right. I was tempted to skip the measurement portion of the sizing and guess. I am glad I didn’t and highly recommend you take the time to measure. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and loved the fast shipping. The gloves arrived at least 10 days faster than estimated.

These gloves are great. They clearly have been designed with purpose by folks who are passionate about the sport. I've just been using them to row on a indoor rowing machine the last couple weeks, and they have significantly improved the comfort level of rowing. I wouldn't want to row without them anymore! It has remedied the problem of getting blisters and developing hard callouses on my hands. The gloves are quite thin and don't bunch up, making them a lot more comfortable than the climbing/cycling gloves I had tried before. I hardly notice they are on once I get going. They also have a nice gripping surface on the palms, which I imagine would be nice for gripping wet oars. TheCrewStop was also great to buy from -- I ordered on a Friday, and the gloves made it from Maine to Seattle by Monday evening. Will definitely buy again! Also, take a look at the manufacturer's website - there is some helpful information about how to choose the right size there.

Use them on tough days
Worn under extreme rowing conditions; Praticing race starts in the pouring rain and distance sculling in 100% humidity/90 degrees. They grip great, nice solid connection from hand to oar, but still allow you to feel the water. Don't listen to purists that say blisters are normal and to work through the pain. They haven't gotten bacterial infections despite taking serious precautions to keep the blisters from getting infected. I don't wear them always, just for extra protection on those days you know blisters are inevitable. As a masters rower, I have other things in life that suffer if my hands are chewed up.

No blistering/ripping
My husband used to row for his high school and college, so he recommended erging (indoor rowing) for a low impact exercise. He also recommended that I get gloves unless I want bloody blisters from daily erging so I gave this one a try after searching and reading multiple reviews and blogs.Shipment was very fast (only couple days to CA). When I received my gloves, I noticed that the velcro part was getting loose. When I contacted them, they responded quickly and were willing to replace the gloves asap.XS was recommended for my hands and the gloves definitely felt slightly tight/snug at first. After couple days of using them, they did get more comfortable. As they describe on their description, these gloves won’t prevent calluses from forming but definitely do prevent painful blisters from forming.I’ve been erging daily on Concept 2 (at least 5000m) for the last two weeks and noticed calluses without painful blistering/ripping of my hands and fingers.I do admit that the price is quite high but I would definitely recommend it for people who want light, comfortable protection from blistering of hands. I would definitely buy them again.

Worth it if you don't want blisters!
Great for recreational rowers. I used to row in college but those days have come and gone so now I need something to pretoect my hands when I grip too tight. These are great. They will be VERY tight when you first get them but they will stretch out after 2-3 good uses (5000m for me). Even though they look delicate I have given them a beating and have lasted through it all.

if you don't like tight.
I started doing 5 min reps on rowing machine to vary work out and get more upper body work without weights. The difference on the skin of my hands with these is what I was looking for. Haven't come close to a blister and only slight reddening of the palms, whereas without palms sore after each work out.I would say they run a bit small, so think a size up, if you don't like tight.

Good but cut isn't perfect for me.
The cut is slightly odd and not shaped like my hand. I still use them when it is hot. even with the odd cut they are still very nice. Who wants normal gloves when it is hot and you are paddling all out? nobody. better to have oddly cut, super thin gloves with lots of exposed skin. Other than the cut they are wonderful. (and maybe my hands are the oddly cut items here??? I don't normally have issues though.)

1,000,000m and still going strong
I have put a little over 1,000,000 meters on them and they have held up great. Lost a bit of the rubber here and there but nothing that really affects the grip. I wear them pretty much daily for rowing. There was no work-in required they were super comfy when I started and they are just as comfortable now. I will buy another pair when these wear out but right now that does not look like any time soon.
