Lighter & Clearer Than I Expected
This bullhorn/megaphone is much lighter than I expected it to be. The included rechargeable battery pack weighs little. The bullhorn can also take regular alkaline cells, but not both at the same time. Because the unit is so light, I suspect even with the heavier alkaline cells it would be easy to tote around without getting tired. BUT just in case you are arm-weary from activity, it comes with a shoulder strap and the unit can be slung from your shoulder and then the microphone unclipped from the back of unit for use. The audio is also quite clear, much clearer than I expected (from having heard others using bullhorns from other manufacturers). The unit is activated for speech amplification either by an "on" switch, which leaves the unit broadcasting until the switch is off, by a switch on the handle of the bullhorn, or by a microphone key on the microphone. There's also record & play function, so you don't to repeat the same dreary saying over and over. Record your audio right on the unit and IT'LL repeat whatever dreary saying you'd like, over and over (until the batteries lose their charge). It also has a siren and a 3.5mm input for audio from a Smartphone or indeed any device with a standard 3.5mm audio jack. The megaphone is an attractive, yet understated, blue with a rubber surround around the perimeter of the audio horn. The unit is fairly loud, although I haven't had a chance to fully test this by yelling at the microphone. It is rated for 50 watts maximum, and if I know audio gear, that's truly the MAXIUMUM power output This is my first bullhorn, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but considering multiple competing brands charge between 2X & 5X more, this bullhorn is likely all you'll need for your voice-amplification purposes.

Great Megaphone; Very LOUD!!
This is a great megaphone for the price. Only drawback, however is the recording function. When playing back a recorded message, it outputs your voice as a lower tone than if you were to just talk live, thus making it hard to understand. Almost sounds distorted but not exactly up that alley. Can't find another way to explain it though. I can work around it a little bit if I hold the mic almost 3 inches from my mouth as it outputs it louder than if you were to just talk live. Overall, recording function just works; not great though but it does get the job done. As far as the line in and loudness goes, this is a great buy for the money. I've had it a day now and still functions as it did when opened. One more thing, the loudness - this thing is almost too loud so I have it turned down almost halfway even though my application is fairly big. Voice is not distorted either when at full volume. Just make sure to turn the volume down substantially if you utilize the siren feature as that is deafening loud at full volume. Music sounds like it would out of any other horn type speaker like the speaker on this. Overall, great product. Would buy again - maybe next time without the recording function to get a lower price. No other complaints though

Excellent Bullhorn with Clear Sound; Lighter than it Looks
I give tours at a 163 year old cemetery. I've had groups as large as 100 people attend the tours and I don't know what I'd do without this bullhorn. It can be set at a variety of amplifications. It was loud enough that all 100 people said they could hear me well. There is no distortion when you speak. It also has a siren function, which I don't have a need for, but would be very effective if you had to get a group's attention or to use in a parade. As large as the bullhorn is, it isn't heavy. It comes with a strap that I put over my shoulder so I can let the bullhorn hang down when I am walking from place to place in the cemetery. I always speak into the handheld microphone, but you could speak directly into the bull horn if you would prefer that. It takes 8 D batteries. I have used the bullhorn for a total of about 8 hours now (6 tours worth) and haven't had to replace the batteries yet. I do caution you to remove the batteries between uses and store them separately. I made the mistake of leaving batteries in a different megaphone years ago and those batteries leaked, making a mess.

Pyle - Pro Review
I would recommend the 50 watt Pyle -Pro to any one interested in a reliable Megaphone product. It's light weight; powered by the easy to recharge and install, lithium battery (included); and or (8) of those heavy D batteries (not included); which I don't use. When my students get too loud, whether in the class or in the cafeteria; they are now in for a rude awakening, as I blast their name and all of their business from one end of the room to the other with out shouting. Amazingly enough, there is total silence while I am speaking, because everyone can clearly hear what is being said and no one dares to try to shout over the Pyle - Pro. However, be for warned that even your best of friends will tend to shy away from you when they see the Pyle - Pro hanging from your side. It is just that loud and nobody wants to be in front of it when you key up the mic. Sincerely; CHUCK

BUYER BEWARE - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM MANUFACTURER
I ordered one unit and it worked well out of the box. I then ordered four more but one of them came with a defective rechargeable battery. I went back on Amazon to contact the Supplier on Amazon's system as is usual, but couldn't, and was directed to contact the Manufacturer directly. I went on Pyle's website and engaged their chat option for customer support. I was told by their CSR that a ticket has been made out to report the problem and someone will contact me soon. After about 3 days, I made another attempt to chat with a CSR and again, I was told that a ticket was made and someone will contact me soon. After 3 days again with no response, I did the same thing again and was told the same thing. At this point I gave up. Four days later I received an email asking for the model number which I had already supplied with the Amazon Invoice in the earlier chats. I replied with the requested information. 4 days later I received another email asking for the Invoice and date of purchase. I repled immediately. About 3-4 days later, I receive another email saying that they don't have stock of the rechargeable battery. I email them back asking when it will be back in stock. Between each communication between us, it took about 3-4 days for the CSR to reply. The CSR replied that she does not know. I then replied that I will go ahead and do my review of the product and the Company, as I cannot get a commitment about resolving the issue. 3-4 days later, I receive an angry reply from the CSR saying that there is nothing they can do if they don't have the part. I reply that I understand but that I cannot wait endlessly for a resolution before making my review. More than a month has elapsed now in back and forth email communications because of the delays in Pyle's CSR responding. I then receive another email saying that the units I received are obsolete and they no longer stock anything for those units anymore. I replied that Pyle should have informed me that I was purchasing obsolete units before I made the purchase. I have now given up. I don't have the time, energy, or patience to continue to deal with such a disgraceful company. I think their plan is to frustrate me until I give up. They have won. I don't have a problem when I get a defective product, because in the real world, these things happen from time to time, even in the best circumstances, and best manufacturers. I do have a problem when a manufacturer/supplier treats its customers with such disgraceful courtesy and such lack of urgency and commitment. I will no longer be purchasing any Pyle product or recommending Pyle to anyone. I now accept my losses and move on.

Great value!!!!!!!!
I bought one of these to annoy my coworkers and it does the job nicely. It's nice and loud and the rechargeable battery lasts a really long time. One thing I love is that you have the option of using the included rechargeable battery pack or regular batteries (in case you lose the charger or need a refresh quickly). The only quirk is that it takes about 2 seconds to engage when you hit the "talk" trigger. That means if you start talking right away, it'll miss the first 3 or 4 words you say. So, you have to press the "talk" button, count to 3 and then start talking.Although the build quality is decent overall (and perfect for my office), the build quality of the detachable microphone might be a weak spot on, say, a construction site.Honestly, for $, this thing is amazing. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This thing is awesome
I work in a warehouse and was yelling to give instructions, so I kept losing my voice. I bought this and it has been a godsend. Not only is it lightweight, but the battery life lasts forever. I haven’t had to charge it since buying it, and that was 3 months ago. It gives you the option to use the trigger and speak or to use the speaker portion. You can hear this from a few hundred feet away, it has an amazing range. Definitely a great purchase, I would buy it again if I had to, can’t recommend this enough. It was also extremely helpful to keep people away and out of the building when there was a fire

Price, performance, features - this unit has the perfect mix!
Our Fantom megaphone bit the dust after many years and we were bereft. I looked at all the offerings from Pyle and settled on the PMP59IR, as it had everything I was looking for: lighter and louder than our old one, a rechargeable battery, and modern options like an AUX IN jack and 10-second recording. I'm happy to report the Pyle delivers on its promises! I mean, really, what more could you want? It's light enough for my wife to easily carry on marches and protests (these days we are doing a LOT of that!), it's LOUD, we don't have to worry about batteries leaking during periods of non-use, and the sound quality is as good as could be expected. Plus, the price was right!

It will scare bears nicely!!!
Damaged box but item was alright. Unit is fairly light, but would not want to hold it out for hours. Looks and feels solid enough. Siren on half volume was killer loud and voice amplification is volumous. It will carry your voice a long long way and loud. Music through aux is not near as clear as a dedicated Bluetooth, but then again, that's not what this is primarily used for. Sounds okay, just sounds like it's coming through a megaphone........... One curiosity, the handset is perfectly functional but looks like it came right out of 1960. No problem, just noticed it that way. Got this specifically to scare bears up north and scared me when that siren went off half volume. For $100 it's perfectly acceptable, just take care as always............... not for seal team 6.

Rather annoying, and not mentioned anywhere in the description
I discovered when it arrived that the battery charger has a US plug on it, so had to buy a converter to adapt it for UK plug sockets. Rather annoying, and not mentioned anywhere in the description.
