Cannot fault this machine for the price.In our attempt to become greener, we wanted a coffee machine to replace our previous one that used plastic pods but didn't want to spend the earth. We purchased this Von Chef 15 Bar Expresso machine over a year ago and I have deliberately waited so long to enable me to review its longevity as well as its performance.As you can see from the photos it still looks as good as new and it also performs as well as the day we first used it. We use the machine every day to make ourselves a lunchtime latte and after 14 months have only had to descale the machine once. There was no electronic indicator for this, we just noticed that the water was slow to pass through and were only getting half the usual amount of liquid in our cups. We then used a proprietary de-scaler (using their instructions) as I had a sachet in the cupboard but next time will use white vinegar. Just remember to flush through thoroughly afterwards.We also purchased a 600ml stainless steel milk frothing jug and milk thermometer which I can highly recommend to ensure you get the milk to the right temperature. We have used, skimmed milk, soya, almond and oat milk and all worked well, though our preference is oat milk for a great creamy latte.Very useful to be able to make two cups at a time and to have different sized stainless steel filter cups allowing you to measure for one or two cups with the two in one measuring spoon and tamper. The milk frother works really well and if you purchase a jug with measurements on the side you will soon get to know exactly how much milk to use to avoid any waste. It is also great to have a large water tank so that you are not forever having to refill it.If you look after your machine after each use by cleaning the stainless steel mesh filter cups, removing and wiping the milk wand which only takes a few seconds and blasting some air through the wand before turning the machine off to avoid any milk clogging the wand, it will remain clean and should work well for a long time.We loved how compact this machine was too and I have tried to demonstrate this in the attached photo showing the machine on the worktop next to our kettle to see how little space it takes up.We are thrilled with the machine's performance, good looks and after 14 months it is still as good as new. Highly recommended, especially for the price!

Great machine for the price. It does great espresso and cappuccino coffee, with ease. The buttons are easy to use and instead of having to watch how much coffee goes into your cup, it has a 1 or 2 cup setting, so you can just press the relevant one and do other stuff like microwave milk for instance. Recommended.23rd January 2023 updateBought this Oct 2019 and used it at least twice a week. However, every so often the steamer didn't produce any steam. It normally cleared after a day and also when it happened, the knob become harder to turn. But yesterday 22nd Jan, after not working on Sat, I tried it again. There was a loud pop and water started pouring out of the coffee holder. I think a tube had detached from somewhere, as a bit of tubing fell out. But after 3 years service, for the price, it was worth it, as the coffee tasted like a coffee shop one.

Had a few problems initially, if you put too much coffee in the container, it comes off, and it’s absolutely red hot, but soon solved that one, - otherwise working well. Need to keep the wand clean and allow it to blow through. - takes a little practice and experimenting to get coffee exactly to your taste but there’s plenty of scope from espresso to latte, and hundreds of types of ground beans of differing strength to play with. I’m happy with it.During lockdown I missed my latte, - this machine will eventually pay for itself since i no longer need to pay extended barista prices.

I wasn't expecting great quality for less than £100, but this machine ticks all the boxes so far. I've been using it for a few weeks now and all seems fine. It's much easier to clean than the previous machine I had as the coffee holder is only 2 components. Pretty sturdy machine for the money, doesn't look cheap. The largest of the two coffee holders is perfect for me as I like a large cup of strong coffee. Time will tell, but if it lasts over the 2 year warranty period and it's still making good coffee that'll be fine for me ! It's also not quite as noisy as my previous machine.

For the price- it’s great! I couldn’t justify one in the hundreds and the reviews on this machine are actually not far off.Temper the coffee down well and you will get a good creme. I don’t ever use the milk frother, tested it on water and it took forever to heat up. That said all the machines seem to be let down with this so if I used milk I would have a separate gadget

Bought to replace a well used and 10 year old coffee machine that was quite large and bulky. This machine is smart and neat and so far it has made perfect coffee. You can make either one or two cups at the same time. The heating element is really fast. and the top of the machine warms your cups which we have found to be an extra enjoyable feature. No complaints about it at all. We have had it 2 or 3 weeks now. Only thing I could comment on negatively is that at first, slotting the coffee container into the fitting is a little stiff to start with. I would definitely recommend this.
