Will it help with hard water? Calcium and Magnesium?

I live in Las Vegas, NV and we have some of the worse hard water. I've had the water filtration system for almost two years and have used this brand the entire time. You can feel the difference immediately.

Does this filter system remove coliform bacteria?

I do not recommend this filter unless you've had your water tested by 3M and they recommend it. I'm a plumbing contractor and I've had serious issues with this filter failing after only a month of use on several occasions (everywhere I've installed it). Water is different everywhere though - getting your water tested is much more reliable in determining whether or not a particular filter is suited to your situation.

Is this suitable for well water? The water has a heavy mineral smell. I want to say it smells like sulphur.
