Why pay more when you get EVERYTHING and MORE for this incredibly low price?!
For the price it simply and honestly can not be beat. Period. I just moved to Southern Michigan and I was worried about my big guy, my Tazzy-bert, getting cold since he's a black lab-mix with short, black hair. Being on a fixed disability budget (cancer ravaged my body), I couldn't afford the 40-50 dollar coats that lay about the local stores. And most locally required putting the front legs though the coat to put it on (something I didn't think my Taz would like). I needed to find something warm, easy to put on, and didn't upset my puppy. I treat my pups exactly how I'd like to be treated, with respect, with dignity, and with love. I refuse to make them learn 'tricks and such. Anywho....I saw this online here @ Amazon and thought it could just be the coat I needed budget-wise, but still have my Taz the protection he needed. I ordered the largest one since he has a 40 inch chest (he's a biggun). Of course I was worried about it not fitting his chest, but as there were no other viable options, I just threw caution to the wind. Well, let me say that my gamble REALLY paid-off. It came nicely wrapped in a sturdy plastic, hanging on it's own decorative hanger. I thought that was a nice touch. It took all of 20 seconds to put on (which my badly damaged and barely working hands appreciated), and the best parts were that it really covered his whole back, neck comfortably, AND it didn't freak the shiat out of him like most everything else did. He took to it in a few seconds, and was even running around the yard (in 40 degree weather) with my other dog (who was very interested in his new coat (she doesn't need one - she has long, thick hair and she LOVES snow). I knew the coat would be long on his back, and it was. I plan to fix that with a few velcro strips that I will put back there to be able to fold back the coat to a more comfortable place on his back, and keep it firmly in place. A simple $1 fix. Again, I KNEW it would be long, and it in no way affected my purchase. I was ONLY concerned about it going around his chest. I plan to budget another one or two in for him. Oh, and in case you didn't realize, these coats have a nice velcro pocket on the back that allows you to store things like poop bags and such, and an opening that you can put a leash clip through without affecting the coat's protection. I found both to be a pleasant -and practical- surprise. It may have been mentioned in the description, but I was too focused on sizing to really take note. So, if you are on the fence on this one, I'd suggest taking the plunge. Sure, you could buy more expensive ones, but I'd argue they'd do no better of a job keeping the wind and cold off your dog's back, nor have any more practical features like the pocket and clip slip. Why pay more when you get EVERYTHING for this incredibly low price?!

Good jacket -- I wish the fit were slightly more adjustable
We got one for our 70lb male greyhound. He's about 26 inches from shoulders to tail -- and thus falls in-between XL and XXL for most dog jackets.Pros:- Works very well with our climate. We live in the mid-Atlantic (Appalachian mountains) and the weather here can vary wildly in temp. We've taken him out in ~30 degree F weather in this coat and have seen nary a shiver from him.- It looks very nice. We've received multiple compliments on it while he's been out and had other pet owners ask us where we got it.- Reflective strips are very reflective. No worries about him not being seen!- Decent price.Cons:- In length it is a LITTLE tight on our dog. It's about an inch from his tail, and very snug where it fastens under the neck. It's not uncomfortable for him to stand in, but when he lays down it gets tight enough to pull at the velcro. Thus, it's fine for a walk coat but not fine for a house coat for a dog of his size.- It's loose around his chest, which is remarkable, as greyhounds are extremely deep chested dogs. As a result it will slide from side to side sometimes and look kind of wonky.I have included a picture of him laying down in it and a picture of him standing in it to give an idea of the fit. The standing picture also gives an idea of what it looks like when it slips to the side.I can't say how well the product holds up to washing. I cannot remember if we have washed it yet... so either we did and it came out fine or we didn't and thus can't report.Over all we like the product -- but do wish there was some way to tighten the girth of it more, and that it was just a smidge longer. I waffled a lot on whether to give it 3 or 4 stars and eventually went with 4. I'd give it 3.5 if I could.Edit: Neglected to mention we got the XL. I'm pretty sure while and XXL would have provided more haunch coverage and been looser round the front it also would have been big enough for my grey to use it as a tent.Edit 2: Not sure what happened to the photos I had attached to this review -- they seem to have vanished, though I know they were there earlier. I'm checking the 'edit' page to see if there's some option to edit photos and I'm not seeing it. Strange.

Great Item!
Got this on sale at a steal, and I am very impressed with the quality of the item. It is thick and soft, with great stitching. It fit our pit/shepherd cross very well (he's about 70 lbs, 34" long). It will be good for letting him out in the chilly weather.

Really smart coat
Really great coat. Looks super on our white retriever. He’s had lots of compliments on it. Best of all it protects his haunches (he has bad hips) in cold weather. Not for rain, but definitely perfect for cold days.

It's okay - I am dissapointed
The size was decieving - I ordered a size that stated it would fit a Golden Retriever - my dog Golden/Akita X - I had to add about 6 inches of fabric to accommodate his chest size - I should have ordered the larger size. The jacket slips to either side when he walks and I need to adjust constantly - it needs a "butt strap".Any and all stray fur stick to the fabric - so if you have a "shedder" this is not the jacket for your dog.I like the look, style and the fact that it is reflective but he won't be wearing it until I figure out how to add a "butt strap".It's the first jacket I've purchase for my dog and I have to say I'm dissappointed :(I have to say Amazon delivered it at "light speed" - I am always pleased with their service.zz

for my britanny spaniel
It just fits. hes around 35lbs and its just big enough for him. not the thickest coat but good for long walks that get him sweating. in the cold canadian winter he wears a sweater underneath, he's old and does't have any hair on his belly. Wish it was water proof but a great product non-the-less.
