Pretty basic dungeon crawler with a nice metal case
The game itself is average but the collectors edition is nice. It comes with a 50 page mini strategy guide that holds most of the info you will need such as unlocks and item descriptions. It also contains a large metal case and a bonus dvd. The metal case is very nice but take care. Had to drop a star since mine arrived with a dent in the metal making it look as if BMO has suffered severe head trauma. Aside from the damage i could not be happier with this collectors edition.

Amazing game for the proper audience
Where to begin with this game... First of all, the demographic is very, VERY precise on this one. Kids will get bored with it and adults who play ths game with their kids will not get it... This game caters to somone like me. Someone who grew up in the retro era when this kind of game was typical. It is basically a rogue-like game with RPG elements inside... The humor alone was good enough for me to fully enjoy this game as an Adventure Time experience let alone the gameplay. What's bad about this game? I can't think of anything for the sole reason that they wanted to make a game like this. The lack of save points so you couldn't cheat the game and the somewhat unforgiving difficulty make this game quite literally the perfect game for someone like me. Should you buy it? Well if you are buying it because it says "Adventure Time" you might be dissapointed... This game will fall flat before you if you don't really enjoy dungeon crawilng levels for hours on end... I like that sort of game and I know many other people who appreciate it as well. Which I can say is the biggest flaw, is that the audience is so narrow that the majority will be fairly upset by this game... The bonus features of the game however are AWESOME! The interviews, storyboards, cinematics and concept art included with the special edition BMO case were well worth the extra price for me... That being said, I give it 5/5 because it is the perfect game for me. If you really enjoy the kind of game I described to you, then this might jsut be your kind of game as well!

Not the worst game I've ever played, but...
***Minor Spoilers*** Upon seeing how universally panned this game is my fans and critics, my curiosity was actually piqued. I'm not one who is normally drawn to video games based off of existing cartoons or movies, so I came in with very low expectations. Perhaps it was because of these very low expectations that I was somewhat pleasantly surprised by this game. But not much. First of all, there's a certain level of joy that comes with being able to play as my favorite characters as opposed to playing only as Finn and/or Jake. I quite enjoyed being able to play as Marceline and later, the Ice King. This game is a dungeon crawl. If you don't enjoy dungeon crawls, then you probably won't enjoy this game. It starts out quite easy, but difficulty increases to become rather unforgiving, especially in later levels. I could see this being very frustrating for young gamers (and for most everyone else, experienced gamer or not). I found that it's better to play it in small doses as not to get burnt out by the monotony of the gameplay. On the other hand, if you enjoy constantly beating up monsters, it can be sort of therapeutic in its own way. Still, it's extremely repetitive and certainly not for everyone. To be frank, AT: EtDBIDK! is one of the glitchiest video games I have ever played. There have been several different occasions in which the game froze up mid-dungeon, causing the game to shut down, thus losing the progress in that set of dungeons. Aside from the glitches, other parts of the game play such as the Candy Tax where PB takes all of your unspent loot before re-entering the dungeon is aggravating. There is no multiplayer function on the 3DS game. If that is important to you, then stay away from this version. Background music in this game is nothing spectacular, but it works and changes depending on what dungeon you're in. Some of the voice acting is limited to the "Wawawah"-speak from the "All The Little People" episode, but the voice actors from the show do supply their voices for the game and not all of it is "Wawawah." The collectors edition comes in an adorable BMO steelbook DVD case. Inside the case is a small approximately 50 page game guide, listing playable characters, NPCs, familiars, sub-wepons, collectable tokens, and monsters. Also included is a bonus DVD, which features Actor Interviews with John DiMaggio (Voice of Jake), Tom Kenny (Voice of Ice King), Niki Yang (Voice of BMO) and Jeremy Shada (voice of Finn). These interviews are only about two minutes long each, but they are fun. Also included are Storyboards of the game's finale as well as an animatic/storyboard comparison of the beginning of the game. Finally, you can view a gallery of game concept art which features level designs, creature designs, and other game elements. In all, there is probably around 12-15 minutes of material on the bonus DVD. Is this a great game? No. But it can be a fun diversion if you don't find it monotonous. If you have the option to borrow or rent the game first, I would recommend playing the first ten levels or so. It that doesn't appeal to you, it probably won't get better to you, other than the increase in difficulty. I certainly wouldn't recommend paying full list price for it.

So not mathematical, dude.
I read reviews of this game, and I was nervous. Repetitive game play. No storyline. But I reassured myself: It's a dungeon crawler. What really can I expect. This will be a great game to throw back with my friends, whom all preordered it as well, and slay fiendies as Finn, Jake and Co. My order came in the mail. I was so excited. The BMO tin is really really nice. Threw it in my system. The graphics are garbage. The voice acting is garbage. The Gameplay is simplistic and reptitive, Who cares, it's a dungeon crawler. I met with my friend to play it together, only to come to the horrid realization that the 3DS version does not support multiplayer. Literally the worst money I have ever spent. Do not buy this game. If you have already bought it, do not open it. Cut your losses and eat the return shipping for a refund. The only saving grace was the idea of enjoying this terrible game with a buddy. Now? Now I just have a fancy BMO tin.

Cool case worth the $8, but game is worth nothing.
I was hoping this game would be just as good as Hey Ice King, but it ABSOLUTELY NOT. Sure, I've only had it for one day, but honestly, I can see why the price is so cheap on here. The graphics just aren't as good as the first game and there is more voice acting in it but all they say is pretty much "blah blah blah" to the words, which I thought was a funny way to do the voices at first, but it gets annoying very quickly. As for the actual gameplay, it's bogus. Its, obviously, more of a dungeon crawling game but the way they have it set up is just bad. The map is hard to figure out, you can get lost very easily. I haven't even figured out how to save my progress except when it saves every 5 levels. You have to collect treasures to level up. This makes sense except for the fact that you can only do it back at the main level and the only way to get back there is when it asks you after 5 levels if you want to go back. Five levels. Then when you go back into the dungeon, any treasure you didn't spend is collected as a "tax" so you go back down to ZERO. I think the cheapest upgrade was 30 treasures, which pretty much equals to about 3 dungeon levels. So really you have to go several dungeon levels before it's even worth going back to level up. It's really difficult to get through all those levels without being able to save or upgrade, only to go back up there and back into the dungeon with ZERO treasures and start collecting all over again. It's tedious. The only good thing about this game is the fact that I got the cool collector's case with it. It's so freaking sweet that I think it's worth more than the $8 I paid for the whole thing. The game is such a huge disappointment, but this case is worth what I paid. I'm going to play it until I beat it, out of a stubbornness to complete it now that I've started it. My daughter might like this game, but she's 4, and she doesn't really hate anything yet.

A great game if you like the playstyle
If you remember the adventure time episode where Finn is on the magical train that spawns monsters after monster... this game is like that and if you love killing lots of monsters, then its meant for you. The level of difficulty in this game quickly escalates and you will find yourself pissed off when you die and lose half of your candies (currency). Although many of the early candy upgrades cost quite a large amount, you can easily bypass many of the first levels by running through them and collecting candy in later levels when you get more. The graphics could be better, but they fit the style of the game, being a retro-style adventure time game. I would imagine playing this on Beemo if I were actually in the land of Ooo with Beemo giving tips and funny commentary the whole time! There are a few bugs in the game, such as flying monsters going into walls, but that happens very rarely. Overall I am happy so far with this game (stuck on Ice King and Cake and Fionna boss), though I can imagine that a lot of the fans may not appreciate the playstyle of this game.

Its pretty good for the value
Its pretty good for the value, the game is ok if you enjoy adventure time sentiment. In terms of actual non sentiment gameplay the game is pretty bad. As a collectors item, well worth!

Adventure Time
I love the subject material, I love the packaging and goodies, I just wish the game wasn't kind of lame. Was expecting better from the previous game.

I bought this for my boyfriend, actually. He loved it. The BMO case was a nice added feature as it is hard and not card board or paper.
