Great prebiotic — gentle, effective, and high quality!
I’ve been using NOW Foods Inulin Prebiotic Pure Powder for a fa while now, and I’m really impressed with both the quality and the results. It’s completely organic, pure, and dissolves easily in water, coffee, or smoothies without altering the flavor much — just a very slight sweetness that’s actually pleasant. After about a week of consistent use, I noticed better digestion and less bloating. It’s also helped me stay more regular, and I genuinely feel my gut health improving. I appreciate that this product is non-GMO, vegan, and free from additives — exactly what I look for in supplements. The value for money is great, especially since a little goes a long way. I usually start with half a teaspoon a day to let my body adjust (inulin can cause gas if you jump in too fast), and that’s been perfect for me. Overall, this is a fantastic prebiotic fiber from a trusted brand. If you’re looking to support your gut health naturally, this is an excellent choice.

Gentle but effective prebiotic
This inulin powder is high quality, and it has worked great for digestion without causing bloating or discomfort. Please do your research and start your dosage slowly before using it. I took too much for the first time and became very nauseous afterwards. That was my fault. I scaled the dosage way back and have slowly been working towards the full dose amount, and I have not had any problems since. I have noticed smoother digestion since I take it regularly. The texture is fine, because it mixes easily with room temperature water, so I do not notice it. There is hardly any smell or taste to it. The bottle is a generous size and has lasted me a long time. My sleep quality has not changed since I started using it. It is definitely worth the price. The only complaint I have is the way they designed the caps on the bottles.

No taste or weird odor, highly recommend!
I noted that it doesn't dissolve in beverages according to others who have bought this product. But it does. It dissolves in plain room temperature water (you just have to mix it). I mostly sprinkle a teaspoon on food once a day, every couple days a week. It has been helping me with a medical problem caused by a lack of fiber. It is great, but I recommend starting off with a 1/4 tsp dosage a day and increasing your dosage slowly as tolerated. I haven't had any adverse side effects.

Has worked for me to decrease appetite, and increase weight loss
Studies on inulin's ability to decrease appetite are inconsistent. Studies I read said results can vary between individuals. For me, this has been a game changer. I've dealt with SIBO, so my gut bacteria were out of whack. What is known is that inulin is a prebiotic, and feeds the good bacteria in the gut. And these good bacteria regulate hunger hormones. I would say my appetite has decreased by at least 50% - at least - since I started taking this stuff. But i take more than the recommended dose. If you spend any time online you might have heard from Dr. Gundry, who sites a study in which individuals who were on a 14-day water fast were also given 100 calories per day of inulin. That amounts to 10 teaspoons of this stuff. He says they had no appetite whatsoever. I've been taking about 80 calories (8 teaspoons) per day. I am NOT recommending that anyone do this - I'm only stating what has worked for me. I put it in my water, it has no taste, and dissolves easily in water. I've noticed a slight increase in gas, but no other side effect. Except big decrease in appetite and weight loss! I had gained weight when my thyroid went off the charts. I started doing this about a week ago, and have lost 3 pounds. Haven't changed anything else. So I believe it is effective for me for weight loss. Hope it works as well for you if you try it.

I get side effects
I started this on October 19, 2023. The dose is 1 teaspoon or 2.8 grams. So I put that level teaspoon of inulin in my morning coffee. It did not affect the taste of my coffee as it is flavorless and dissolves immediately. Wow, the stomach cramps and excessive gas were enough to put me down for the day. So waited a week and tried 1/2 tsp. Same problem. Waited a week and tried 1/4 tsp. Still cramps and gas just not debilitating. I thought about just throwing it out but didn’t. I Just started back on it January 8, 2024. Current dosage 1/8 tsp. 1 x a day. No cramping some slight gas. I will see how this goes and if the gas disappears I’ll up it to 2 x a day and then 3 x a day if all goes well. Update: as of 02/12/24 I am up to 1/2 tsp oneness a day without any side effects Participants in some of the studies I read were taking 10 grams 3 times a day t obtain optimal health benefits. Some dropped out do to side effects ( I can relate). I don’t know if I will ever reach the goal of 10 grams 3 x a day but I hope I can at least reach the 2.8 grams that is recommended on this bottle

Taking for my brain. ABSOLUTELY tasteless. Excellent value.
After seeing a few articles describing the cognitive benefits to Inulin Fructo-oligosaccharide I opted to give it a try to see if it could help with my deteriorating memory. A study conducted at London's Crown College found that cognitive test scores of elderly patients improved after 12 weeks on this supplement. This may seem odd for a digestion supplement but there have been a number of discoveries in the last few years concerning the connection between gut health and brain function. Apparently this stuff feeds some normal variety(ies) of gut bacteria that produce some compound that crosses the blood/brain barrier and does your grey matter a good turn. The study also found and noted that it had no other benefits at all as I assume this stuff was previously being marketed under other claims. I started off with capsules. Though large, they were easy to swallow. I noticed no effect from them whatsoever good or bad, though they only last 4 weeks. I went to a 1 pound bottle of powder this time and have continued for another ten days or so. I have only my subjective opinion to rely on, but I feel as if I am seeing some small improvements in my memory: name recall, function recall, processing, etc. This time it seems as if use of the powder may have slightly increased flatulence (farting) but not problematically so and even if it was the Inulin, the effect is fading off. The powder is ASTOUNDINGLY tasteless. Last night I dissolved two heaping teaspoons in perhaps 5 ounces of warm water and when I drank it, it tasted EXACTLY like a glass of water. The water does not need to be warm - I was only trying to enhance and detect the taste of the stuff. The powder is extremely fine and dissolves quite readily. And I have mixed it in my morning coffee, juice and water. It would be perfect in smoothies if you're into those - I'm just too lazy for that. This powder was less than half the price/gram of the capsules I was taking and so I regard it as an excellent value. My deteriorating memory has been a major concern for me and the lack of effective therapies was distressing. This seems like a very low risk possibility with some valid science behind it. I plan to continue to take this stuf for 6 - 9 months before deciding whether or not I discern a valid, objective benefit. If I'd had some sort of baseline cognitive testing that I could repeat, I would test after 12 weeks to see if there were anything detectable happening. There is always the placebo effect but I do my best not to let my hopes and expectations hold sway. However, finding something that even suggests a valid possibility of therapeutic benefit improves my outlook on the future and I can't deny that is an enjoyable change. I will buy Inulin again and I will very likely buy it from NOW supplements.

Good brand and a good idea for your gut!
Inulin is a great prebiotic that doesn't mess with blood sugar and helps to regulate your gut function. I'm new to taking it. I like the brand for reliability and testing. It's a fine powder that does get sticky on the spoon, but it seems to mix easily into my banana milk kefir smoothie. Now, if you're sensitive to stuff, you may find that it makes you a bit sleepy, which is why they recommend taking it before bed! I tried that, but I try not to consume anything prior to bedtime, so I went right back to a lunchtime smoothie with inulin, and I'm powering through the urge to nap! I haven't noticed anything physically yet, and I suppose that's a good thing! No ill effects whatsoever! Good brand and a good idea!

Good for your gut.
Very good product. Works perfectly well for constipation. Don’t think it’s a laxative… it’s not. It’s fibre that works in the gut & helps to pass a stool without problems.
