It's plastic but hard to beat filter for the price
My wif is the ultimate judge of the performance of the filter in regards to how hair is treated by the output water, and this is the only filter so far that passes her tests. If the fixture was metal or of slightly higher grade plastic I'd give it a 5 star. The first one in plain white we had fractured after 5 years of service.

Great filter.
Great filter. Although it is made of plastic and it does not include the shower head in the photo. I've been using Paragon shower filters for 20 years and they're great.

Excellent product
The water quality at the house was leaving behind a great deal of residue.The shower curtain kept a 'scale' on it.Both problems have been taken care of.The water no longer dries my skin.This was easy to install and well worth the money.

Cheap Shower Filter
We bought this to help filter our water when we lived in Michigan. It worked ok but when you change the filter watch out be careful or you will crack the housing! I did what it said in the directions and not over tighten the filter and connection. The filter seems really flimsy and will break easily so be careful. I ended up removing it after 1 year due to it leaking and starting to stress crack. Also the filter doesn't seems to work that good.

Faulty Manufacturing
I was excited to take a chlorine free shower... I Installed the filter, fired up the shower and water was sparying out the side of the unit. On closer inspection I found a hairline crack running along the housing. It looks like it was caused by a screw-in metal plug near the inlet that was overtightened into the plastic unit. Yes I know it says "Chrome" but it's chromed plastic... Cheap plastic with zero quality control. Thanks for wasting my time and creating more toxic landfill!

Paragon Shower Filter
Excellent product. Gives you 10 times the gallons through it as the competition. Most people don't understand how good this product is and how well it works.
