Thelwell's Pony Panorama: A Classic Collection Featuring Gymkhana, Thelwell Goes West & Penelope

I've always loved Thelwell's charming collections of cartoons, but I was disappointed by the quality of the reproductions in this anthology. It looks like someone scanned an older version of the books but didn't take the time for quality control of the images, so in some cases fine details are lost. I have some of the older individual volumes, and I compared them side by side, so I'm confident in this assessment.

What's not to love? Thelwell's unique sensibility and the ponies that are 100% individuals with their own agendas. Sometimes, that is to work with their children, and sometimes they wish to thwart the children. But either way, delightful.

I loved the Thelwell novel of A Leg In Each Corner, as did most of my family when I was young. However, with the additions to the family of another generation, it is hard to find books that have a gentler humor to them that appeals to many generations.With another appeal for the Thelwell novels is the fact that many are based on a country life that is rapidly disappearing.Also, with the newer novels being a compilation of several novels, this makes for a very economical purchase.I am very happy with the product and the prompt receipt of the order. I grew up with these books! If you have ever had a pony or a naughty horse, you will love these!

Thelwell, an English cartoonist, is one of the best I have found for horsey humor. He draws wonderfully and gives you great situational, horse-related cartoons. Pony Panorama is a compilation of three books: Gymkhana, Thelwell Goes West and Penelope. I already owned 2 of them but this was the only way I could get "Gymkhana", one of his earlier books. Well worth it.

My horse crazy grand daughter loves it.

If you have ever worked with horses, know someone who does, or you have never had any experience with horses, you will enjoy these books. They show the lighter side of the horse world.

Brings back memories of having opinionated, stubborn little ponies and their equally opinionated little owners!

Great little gift

These cartoons are simply great - clever, classic humour that deserves a place anywhere where there's an interest in horses or the outdoor life.This should be a 6* book, but the images have been shrunk to fit the small paperback format, and the quality of the paper doesn't do the cartoons justice. It's a real shame they haven't preserved the original format of these marvellous books.

I was very please to find this copy of Thelwell's Pony Panorama at a very good price, and also in very good condition as I always check out Thelwell's books on Amazon site about once a month, and in the past they have been more than I could afford to paid so yes I was very please.
