Shower Filter, White, w/ Replaceable Cartridge

*Please note that this filter is a reduction filter and cannot possibly reduce all chemicals and contaminants in your water to zero!*This filter mounts easily with no tools and the replacement cartridges are a great value, since they last many months (up to a year, depending on your water.) It noticeably reduced chlorine (which dries my skin terribly) and the odor of rotten eggs that sometimes is in our city water (hydrogen sulfide.) This is basically a Brita filter for your shower and it works just as well, if not better, than it's advertised. Since the water is cleaner, it takes less soap to lather up and there doesn't seem to be as much soap scum to clean up.Try it out and you'll be hooked!

I've used these filters for years and recently repaced my cartridge housing after about 8 years of use. The filters used to last about 6 months. However, the past several filters I've used have gotten completely clogged after 2 - 3 weeks. We live in New York City, and our water does not have significant sediment - I can only conclude the filter medium has changed. I have had to switch to a different shower filter.I do want to mention that Paragon was very good about giving a refund when I contacted them about my problems with the filters.

Have used for 10 years. Like the way it worksUsually had to replace after outer casing cracked every 3 years. Last case cracked after 5 months.So I emailed paragon from their website, and within an hour they had contacted me resolved my problem by sending me a replacement part. Thank you to Priscilla in customer service for her rapid resolution.I like it.

Item is amazingly easy to install, and they include teflon tape which was nice. It took all of 3 minutes from start to finish with nothing more than a pair of vice grips. I live in an older building and I was worried that I was going to lose water pressure, which was already not very good to begin with, but that wasn't the case at all. I think my old shower head was getting clogged up, but this new filter/shower head unit allows more water pressure to come through than with my previous filterless shower head. Im not sure of the flow rate difference between heads, but even if the new one is lower, I didn't find myself noticing less water during the shower.Of course upon installing it, I had to take a shower to see the results. The filter seems to take out all that extra junk you dont want and afterwards my skin doesn't feel dry, tight and itchy like before. I am very pleased with my purchase and for the low price, Im kind of kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

I was looking for something that would help with the chemicals in my town water. It was killing my hair. Well, this seems to have done the trick. My hair is softer and the color lasts longer without getting brassy. Highly recommend for those with sensitive skin or color treated hair.

Easy to install

My only criteria for the filter was to remove dissolved hydrogen sulfide gas from the water. The hot water has a lot more smell than the cold water and showering was really awful until I got the filter. Now there is no smell at all. I have used other filters at my previous house to remove chlorine from municipal water, but they didn't have replacable filters. The filter housing is tight though, I might consider putting some white grease on the threads before I screw it on next time.

I bought this shower filter three years ago. After 10 months of use, I had to order a replacement cartridge. Problem was that no cartridges were available. As we were happy with the filter, we decided to buy another filter and forget about the replacement cartridge. After using the second filter for 8 or 9 months, I new cartridge was again needed. I ordered it from the manufacturer (Paragon) but my order was cancelled four days afterwards. I learnt my order had been cancelled only because I received an email from AMAZON. The manufacturer (Paragon) did not even bother to let me know why my order was cancelled. I guess they do not carry the cartridges any longer. Maybe they prefer to sell the filter (which is much more expensive) and not let the customers know the replacement cartridges will never be available?. I would assume this is the case. Now I am going for another filter and will never buy anything from Paragon again.
