Does this product work?

I have had these tools for several years and they still work great. That being said, anything can happen when it comes to power tools and batteries, but the warranty should cover anything that happens, within reason. They are battery operated so you can't push them to the max like corded tools.

Is the work light LED?

no I had to change it to LED after the purchase

No, mine came brand new in original box and wrapper

how do I know what drill bits to get?

For the impact drill, get 1/4 inch hex shank spiral drill bits that simply clip into the drill chuck. For the 1/2 inch hammer drill, any conventional spiral drill bit that will fit into the self tightening chuck.
