Audio-Technica PRO41 Cardioid Dynamic Handheld Microphone

This may be going way against the grain here, but I'm not really much of a fan of the Sure SM 58. I feel that they are too bass heavy for most vocal applications and they only sound good showed halfway inside one's throat. I like the SM57 Beta better because it's thinner sounding and picks up further away. But, being almost broke I couldn't justify dropping $140 on one, so I decided to look at other options. I picked up the Pro41 because of the price point and because I know that Audio Technica makes good stuff (I absolutely love my Audio Technica AT-440MLa cartridge).I was pleasantly surprised when I tested this guy out. Reasonable pickup distance, good tonality and bass response more akin to an SM57. With minimal EQ, I can get spoken vocals that are lean and articulate, as opposed to the somewhat bloated and boomy sound characteristic of an untamed 58.

Works great for any type of audio, singing, Leslie speaker, acustic guitar, no mater what you need a microphone for, This for the price you could buy two for the price of most others of this quality. Over 30 years ago I purchased one of these and i still use it today.

Its a good microphone, I really enjoyed the on/off switch, no popping or anything. Very smooth. Sound was good, though I don't know if it was as powerful as I had wanted it to be, weather it was the mike or the old PA system. Feels good in the hand, rugged feeling. A good beginner microphone in my opinion.

Works perfectly as a rehearsal mic. Excellent value for money.

Don't let the price fool you. This is a very good quality microphone for a reasonable price. So far I am very please with the quality and performance of this microphone. The bag it comes with is nice for storage and the 15' cord is a nice extra.

Exactly what I wanted

This is a great microphone. I started with one. Then ordered another. We do Karaoke at our house and we had these two mics and 2 other mics. Everyone always wants the Audio-Technica mics. So I ordered 2 more. We now have 4 of the Audio-Technica Pro 41 mics. They're always the first choice of our singers.Audio-Technica Pro41 Vocal Microphone

Used this for a one time DJ gig and it did the job! Not an expert for sure, but it worked for what we needed it. Will update if we have any problems with it.
