With the above average experience that comes from a many year odyssey in our American medical system (Ignore Ketama, as that's only my Summer residence!) and being treated by those mostly dim witted personel in that profession, and their litany of mistakes and just plain stupid screw ups, I finally picked up Hep C. Not only was I bitter over this, but it was preventing me from continuing the ongoing treatment I was going for to begin with, because of the elevated liver enzymes my blood tests revealed, I couldn't continue my regular medications! This continued for several months, with the levels only dropping a few points every couple of months, with some dietary improvement changes. Then, they wanted me to seek out this & that specialist when I decided to see what I could try on my own first, when I ran across LIV.52, and looked into some studies on that, and more importantly, what users were saying about it. Satisfied it was worth trying, I picked up some shortly before an upcoming blood test--VERY shortly. In fact, I had 17 days until my next test,by the time I received it, and did not expect any results that soon, and figured it would take until the next test around 30 days later, if no improvements were made. I started by taking 2 caps a day, as directed, for 7 days to see if I tolerated it okay, and that was fine, so I went up to 3 caps a day, for the 10 days prior to the test. (I read where others with elevated enzymes usually took 4 caps a day, since 2 caps is really just meant as a preventative dose for those that want to maintain a normal, toxic free liver, and don't have any elevated enzyme counts to begin with, and a disease free liver.) As I said, over several months my enzyme counts dropped a few points with each consecutive blood test, yet were still VERY high on the previous test, done on 2/2/09, with an AST level of 127 (Normal range is 14 to 48), and an ALT level of 150 (Normal range is 7 to 58), so you can see they were quite high. After 2 caps per day of LIV.52, for 7 days, then, 3 caps for 10 days, I had my blood pulled on 4/6/09, about 2 months after the previous test, and my AST level was 74, and my ALT level was 90, still higher than normal, but a vast improvement as you can see. There is NOTHING else to attribute this to but the LIV.52, so I'm a believer. Now, I'm back on my regular treatment path, and my next blood test won't be for 5 months, and I'll continue on the LIV.52, and I'll try to remember to update this with those results, which I hope and expect will be much better still, and quite possibly within the normal range. This was all my doing, and the bottom line is that you can ONLY count on yourself for what's right for you. Don't get me wrong, as a whole, the medical profession has made great strides, and there are some personel doing great things, but any 'discoveries' are huge team efforts usually, after years of research and millions or billions of dollars spent, and the great doctors & surgeons you hear of are few and far between, leaving most no more competent than your average moron, or worse. Still don't believe me? Well, believe this: The forth leading cause of death in the United States is from medical mistakes. Yes, you heard it right, look it up, then, say they aren't "morons"! I believe the last count has it at 249 people a day, dead from medical "MISTAKES", think about it, then, take care of yourself, you'll live longer. And, if you have high liver enzymes, LIV.52 works, it's not one of the many worthless herbal preps out there. Plus, it's pretty cheap, and through Amazon, I got it pretty fast too, just about a week I think. Good Luck & Health!

I bought this liver supplement because when I had bloodwork done at my recent doctor's appointment, there was something abnormal going on with my liver. I had a liver ultrasound today and got the results back quickly. I have a moderately fatty liver. I'm hoping that this supplement will be good for that. I also chose this one because there is no milk thistle in it. I learned quite a few years ago that I'm allergic to milk thistle. I broke out in hives-- not good! I have only been taking these pills for a few days, but so far, so good. They are small and easy to take. They have a very herbal smell and they just briefly taste like an herbal tea while swallowing them. I will update this after I have been taking them for a longer period of time and know for sure if they have been effective or not at improving my liver function.

I have been taking this supplement for about a year and over time my blood work (every 6 mo.) Has shown improvement in all areas including decreased HDL. I admit I do not eat like I should all the time, but despite this, my results have improved. Obviously these things vary, but this is my experience.

I've been taking these for a while now and they've been great. This 180-day pack is an awesome value and saves me from having to reorder constantly. Easy to swallow and I feel good taking them. Definitely recommend!

I've had various health problems and concerns modern healthcare hasn't been so great at helping with. Thus I've studied on my own for probably thousands of hours and spent thousands of dollars trying to not feel like crap, every day. I've had gallbladder pains so it was removed. Still have some pain in that area. One Dr. noticed fatty liver on an ultrasound but said not to worry, it's not bad, it's common, etc. Another Dr. noticed higher than average liver enzymes, but also said, not to worry. I've always noticed over the years that generally anything that should help your liver, makes me feel better. Anything bad for your liver, well makes me feel like death. I've probably damaged my liver pretty well over the years. Too many antibiotics as a kid, accutane, mercury poisoning, fair amount of drinking, etc. I've always seen this supplement around but I don't see it mentioned a lot in literature. Most liver supplements make me feel worse, so I was cautious when I gave this a try. - ALA. First dose seems to make me feel good, then I feel progressively worse. I don't know if it's lowering my already low blood sugar, or what. - NAC. Similar to ALA. Feel slightly better at first, but then even more foggy and tired later in the day. - Choline supplements. BAAAD news. Make me very depressed, anxious, tired. This is known choline can make people depressed. - Milk Thistle. Either no effect or just makes me feel super lousy. Tired, spaced out, depressed, etc. - SAMe - Feel good first few days. Energetic and clear headed. Then comes this anxious, weird, just plain bad feeling. I've only taken this for about a week but I have noticed that I am sleeping better at night. This is HUGE because the last few years, my sleep is a serious problem. Also notice I wake up more clear headed. Also notice that my eyes are brighter, and actually green again. This is the first time in well over 10 years, I've seen that color green in my eyes. I forgot they used to look like that. People have commented my eyes and skin look brighter. I generally seem to react well to it. Some days/doses seem to make me feel the typical lethargic/spacey, but finally, the pros seem to outweigh the cons in a liver supplement. I will try to update this review in a month or so with liver ultrasounds and enzyme level tests to make sure there I'm really improving on paper as well.

Before I get into my review of "LiverCare" I want to give you all a brief explanation as to why I started taking this product. On July 2, 2013 I paid my doctor a visit for my annual physical check up. They took a blood and urine sample along with my consultation. An hour later (yes, the dreadful wait) my lab results came in and the results where not what I was expecting. Mind you that I came with the expectation that everything was fine and that this was simply a precaution. Well, I was wrong. My urine samples were fine as well as my thyroid, metabolic, and lipid markers, however, my liver enzymes were through the roof. My AST and ALT liver enzymes in particular were way above the norm. My liver numbers on July 2, 2013 were as followed: Hepatic Function - Reference Range _______________ _____________ Total Protein: 7.5 g/dL | 6.4 - 8.2 Albumin: 4.2 g/dL | 3.4 - 5.0 AST: 158 U/L | 15 - 37 ALT: 363 U/L | 30 - 65 Alk Phos: 77 U/L | 50 - 136 TBI: 0.3 mg/dL | 0.0 - 1.0 DBI: 0.1 mg/dL | 0.0 - 0.3 GGT: 37 U/L | 5 - 85 LDI: 276 U/L | 100 - 190 ______________________________________________________ After seeing these numbers the doctor advised me to avoid alcohol and tylenol (acetaminophen) at all cost and to also stop taking any supplements (vitamins) that I might be taking. That very same day I went and got myself a bottle of Milk Thistle at Walgreens and started taking that. Two days later I came across LiverCare on Amazon and based on the reviews it had I decided to give it a try. For about a month I took 2 capsules of LiverCare along with 3 capsules of milk thistle (350mg each) every day. I also significantly increased my water intake in an effort to assist my body in flushing out harmful toxins and started taking Metamucil 3 times daily for regular GI health. I continued this ritual daily and today August 5, 2013 I got my new lab results back. In a little over a month my liver enzymes are back to normal. When I saw the results I was pretty excited. My doctor was very surprised to see them back down so soon. He even asked me what I did and of course I mentioned livercare haha. I will continue using this product religiously along with Milk Thistle and I suggest you do the same if you have similar problems such as me. Of course I might add a disclaimer and say that my situation might have been caused by something different than yours so don't always expect similar results. My father was diagnosed with alcoholic liver cirrhosis aprox 5 years ago & was told in no uncertain terms by the doctors you drink & you will die! We have upped the MT to 6 per day now- going on three months later & the results have been nothing short of a miracle!! I have to be honest when I arrived & saw the condition he was in I felt that giving him the aforementioned products would prove fruitless, but then I had nothing to lose & I am so glad we gave it to him religiously-his eyes & skin were bright yellow from the jaundice but slowly & surely his coloring resumed back to normal, he did have ascites -where the fluid builds up in the stomach because the fluids don't drain through the normal channels ie. liver & had two draining's off a gallon plus fluids from his abdomen twice with a month in between-in clinical trials after 6 months this fluid build up is suppose to stop. All I want to say is I was desperate my father was dying & these products have bought me more time with someone I love with all my heart.

I purchased this supplement more than 50 times in my life. Great supplement for your liver. For those wondering, take it before you go to bed, it's much more effective. I'm writing a review, because this one time, the bottle I received exploded in pieces (probably during shipping). The box is filled with pills and glass shards. I won't risk taking the pills at the expense of swallowing a piece of glass. I would like the seller to send another box please. I'm leaving a 5 stars review, because at the end of the day, it's a good product and even good products can get damaged sometimes.
