Transformers Prime First Edition Action Figure Set - Optimus Prime vs Megatron with DVD - Entertainment Pack Limited Edition

This is a GREAT little collection. Absolutely great. This set comes with the Deluxe Class Optimus Prime, the Deluxe Class Megatron,three non poseable figurines of Jack,Miko,and Raf and a dvd of the first episode of the regular season "masters and Students."We'll start off with Optimus. This Deluxe Class Optimus is exactly the same as the Comic Con Exclusive but more detailed paint wise. Some of the differences is the silver trim on the top cab, Yellow lights instead of silver,more silver paint on the head, and the windows on Optimus's chest is now blue instead of a metallic grey. Personally I like the grey better.Transformation is simple. There are many similarities to the voyager class FE Optimus.Just scaled down a bit.Very easy to transform.Robot Mode looks kinda funny as with the Comic Con version. His arms are like gorilla arms. They're just not to scale. Sad thing is, it's way more screen accurate than the newer Powerizer Optimus Prime.When it comes down to it. The robot mode is a heck of a lot more accurate than your average deluxe size optimus. This one is super fun to transform back and fourth.Next is Megatron. This is my favorite thus far. I really don't care to much for the Powerizer Megatron other than being more scale accurate. This Megatron is just perfect. I really wish Hasbro would have just made him bigger and released him instead of the Powerizer.Vehicle mode is as screen accurate as you're going to get. 95% screen accurate in my opinion. Megatron this time around is a cybertronian Jet.I absolutely love the little detail that Megatron is just so disgusted with the Human race he doesn't even want to acquire a vehicle form from anything human made.Just a heads up. The Instructions for Megatron are WRONG. The Instructions only instruct you to a certain point and by the time it tells you youre done...in reality you're only 3/4 of the way to completion. His shins separate to form the vehicles wing.My advice...youtube First edition Megatron review. The guys that do the reviews will walk you through it step by step.Transformation is kinda tricky but very fun. Once you get used to it,it's a walk in the park.In fact the Powerizer version borrowed a lot of gimmicks featured with this Megatron.Robot Mode...frickin awesome. Perfect. That's all I have to say.As for the figurines they are non poseable.But they are to scale with the other figures of the First Edition Line minus a couple like Arcee and Starscream.Pretty cool little figures though.overall this a great package. Well worth the money.However prices have skyrocketed due to the cancelation of the FE line.If you can pick on up do it. This is a must have

This toy either deserves a 5 star rating as others have given it or a 3 star it depends on who you are buying it for. If you're buying it for an adult collector it's clearly a five. It's extremely detailed and I'm amazed at the engineering that went into it. It really manages to look like a truck (or spaceship) when in vehicle mode and a robot when in robot mode. Many transformers seem to sacrifice one of the modes to not look as true to the cartoon versions.This is where the 5 or 3 star rating comes in. It is fairly difficult and complicated to transform between these modes. My wife can't do it. I can, but the first time it took me a good 30 minutes to really get it right and now I can do it in about 5 minutes but that's as a professional engineer. My Kid can't effectively do it and gets frustrated. So if you're an adult collector go for it. If this is for a kid under 8 or so I would recommend against it. I disagree with the 5+ age rating on it. Having said that for a true collector it's a great toy.

This is a pretty big package. It has Optimus, Megatron, the kids, and the episode Masters and Students.Starting with Optimus, let's check out his vehicle mode. Optimus turns into a semi truck. Vehicle mode looks pretty good. There are a few paint differences from the SDCC version that make this one look better. It's kinda funny, since this is a retail version, and that's an exclusive.Transformation is simple and more kid friendly than Megatron. It definitely has some similarities to the Voyager version of Prime, especially the "fake winshield" chest. (Again, CHEAT!!!!!!11)Robot Mode- Looks pretty nice. He's got these gorilla arms, but they don't bother me too much. I like how they made his gun so it looks like it's coming out of his hand. Very neat little touch. Possibility is quite good. He's definetly got some back kibble like the RID Voyager, but this mold has the wheels sticking out of the side, but that isn't enough to make me rage on the figure.Now that that's over with, let's go on to Megatron, shall we? Let's. Vehicle Mode- Megatron turns into a Cybertronian jet. It looks pretty good. It's got silver paint that makes me wish Hasbro did a better job at painting the RID Voyager Megatron.Transformation, for me, is not easy. It's a bit fiddly, and is, overall, a big pain in the @$$.Robot Mode- Looks awesome. I love how this thing looked. And the paint scheme- ooh, dat paint scheme. So shiny. I, unfourtuanetly (god, I can't spell that) , lost his fusion cannon, so I really can't display him. HE'S RUINED WITHOUT HIS FUSION CANNON! RUINED FOREVER!!!!!! No, I'm just kidding. But seriously, it's just not the same.Now, the package comes with the kids, Jack, Miko, and Raf. They look pretty nice, and they come with stands. They can only move thier heads though. And, to top it all off, it comes with the episode, Masters and Students.Overall, this is a nice package. If you can find this for a decent price, go for it. Or, of you're patient, this and most of the FEs come out this holiday season, and you can get it then.

Let me start off by saying this is very hard toy package to find. I first saw it on Toysrus.com but that didnt last long especially during the holidays. I was devastated :,-( but lord and behold amazon had 1 in stock. I ordered it without even thinking bout it. I was so happy! The toy is awsome. It has a dvd and 2 transformers. My nephew loved it. He even said hey where did you get this? he coudlnt believe that there were 2 in there and a dvd. Thanx amazon for making christmas the perfect christmas for my nephew!!!
