## Description

The new Toot 2. 0 with the added silicone key pads is a child's perfect next step after learning to play the recorder, and is ideal for preparing a student to play the flute. This set includes a Nuvo First Note lip plate which can be used in the very early lessons as the student is learning fingering and posture. When the student is ready, remove the First Note lip plate and replace it with the regular lip plate which is also provided. Like the Dood, the Toot brings a new richness of sound to any ensemble and teaches students important woodwind skills.

Review: It’s worth buying, if you want a plastic fife. - I was pleasantly surprised by this little fife. For those who are not used to a transverse aperture, it has a whistle-like mouthpiece AND a regular flute-like mouthpiece. It comes with the whistle mouthpiece attached — and it sounds pretty good. (I’ll probably leave it on for a while.) Full chromatic scale, all the sharps and/or flats. Good price, too. If you’re looking for a fife, I recommend this little guy. Lots of fun.
Review: A Nice Intro to Flute - Most of the things I read about the Nuvo Toot talked about it being aimed at children - but I am an adult clarinet player who was interested in learning flute. I got this for learning the embouchure before moving up to a real metal flute. I feel like it did its job and gave me a good head start. I think it's great to try this at any age if you want to test the waters of playing flute before spending a lot on a nice one. Also it's just fun to mess around with, and I love that it's silicone and plastic so I can throw it in a bag or leave it in the car and not worry about damage.

I am a flute teacher and this is a fantastic teaching tool for very young students. It’s fits their hands well and helps teach how to make a sound on the flute before transitioning to a bigger instrument. It has a decent tone as well. Only drawback is the lack of pitches. It’s only possible to play a few notes on it.
