Peak Refuel Mountain Berry Granola with Rice Milk, Vegan Backpacking Meal

I had the Mountainberry Granola for breakfast on one of my hikes, and honestly, I was surprised by how good it was. I personally don’t like strawberries, but the dairy was really creamy, and the granola had a nice fibrous, crunchy texture that made the whole meal enjoyable. It had a very strong berry flavor, which I normally wouldn’t go for, but for a breakfast meal I actually didn’t mind it. My biggest complaint is that it was a little too sugary for my taste. Adding a bit more water and making it more soupy could help dilute the sweetness. Other than that, I ended up finishing the entire bag, which says a lot. It was crunchy, filling, and had a great texture for a freeze-dried breakfast. At around $9, I think it’s a fair price, but considering it’s primarily granola, berries, and dairy, I personally think $6 would be a more reasonable price. Overall, though, I really enjoyed it and would definitely consider having it again on a hike.

I love this stuff. It’s so easy and you just pour a little water in it. You have two meals!

I brought like six of these for a family of four backpacking trip and they were universally loved. It's basically granola cereal with fruit and the taste is great. Of course this is subjective but if you like granola and berries, toss in some sort of powdered milk and you'll have plenty of fuel to start the day. No boiling needed and with cold stream water (filtered of course) this meal is a real treat when out in the woods.

Very good. Has a watery texture but over all delicious and filling.

I take one of these most spring mornings if I'm doing a camping and hunting trip combined. You can munch on it most of the morning, and I usually have a little once I get settled into the woods and then mid morning to finish it off. Good stuff.

Ok, I literally just finished trying this. I added one cup cold water, resealed the packet & shook it up and opened it. Looked pretty darn watery. I assumed there might be powdered milk, in the mixture and I would see that, once it was mixed up,,,,nope,,,just looked watery. Tasted pretty good though. The granola was yummy and the strawberries and blueberries were good too. Definitely convenient for back packing but, if I was camping, I think I would add milk instead of water,,,,then it would be perfect. I don’t think this would suffice as breakfast, for two people. Absolutely not.

The Peak Refuel Granola is great, but the packaging is suspect. I received my order with a pouch that had burst at the top seam. Sticky powder covered all the items in the box. 3 stars for suspect packaging.
