Review: Quality Noticeable Results After the First Use - Immediate results from the first use. I noticed that Mom's hair was looking like straw from all the city added chlorine. Skin was dry too. After one use, her hair's sheen improved and looked better (not 100% improved, but noticeably less straw like). I have used these filters over the years quite successfully as I've moved for work. As for the Nov '25 one-star review, that user possibly applied the plumber's tape incorrectly, insufficiently, did not tighten the join fully or did not push the white filter into the threaded end as instructed. Those are the reasons it would leak. The cracked neck sounds like that user became frustrated at the tenth re-install and torqued it beyond the recommended levels to stop the leak. Never had a problem with the product in the past 15 years of using and installing for family and friends. The product is fine.

My scalp never felt clean and my hair was becoming more damaged as time went on. Back in Ohio we'd had a water softener, so I looked for something that could be attached to myshower head. This has been a game changer! My scalp feels sooo much better and I notice that I requires less shower gel to get a good lather going. My skin feels better, also. If you're dealing with scalp issues, the first place to start is to get the minerals/deposits out of the water you're using to wash your scalp! All the products you try won't make a bit of difference if the water, itself, is not filtered. While our City tries to filter it, it can only get so much out of the water, so in the end this cleans it before it reaches my scalp or body. Be warned, though. Since it has a filter inside, when you move the temperature knobs it can take a minute or so for the water to change temp. as it has to run through the filter inside. So be patient and you'll have a much better showering experience. Depending upon how many use this shower filter, keep an eye on how often you need to change it. It does come with a shower head, but I just buy the filter system as I use my own beloved shower head. For one person, showering every other day, you'd probably need to change this filter twice a year. You'll be able to tell when it needs to be changed as your scalp won't feel as clean, and your ability to get good bubbles going when you shower will diminish. This has been a game changer for my hair , and you know how us women like to have our hair look nice, as well as feel nice! I am soooo glad I came across this wonderful product! I immediately told her about this shower filter and she turned around and told the nurse next to her bout it and she came over to feel my hair. While my husband thought it rather odd, I understood. They both planned on buying one immediately upon getting home, the water is that bad in certain places around the DFW area. Please do not ever stop making this as you have a customer for life in me, and now probably these two nurses...lol

**Q: Why is the Aquasana without shower head, $54.99, more expensive than the Aquasana with showerhead, $48.00?**
A: I hated this water filter, go with water chef, way better, filter replacement a bit expensive but I’m way happier!

**Q: will this remove copper ?**
A: No home filters are rated to take out heavy metals, the manufacturers don't want to get sued if you have excessive contamination that they can't completely remove.
You should try the filter for three days, then take a water sample and send it to the lab to see how many contaminants are left.

**Q: Does the filter work when upside down**
A: This is not a gravity filter. This filter works by water pressure forcing it through various chambers inside , I’m sure it will work even if its installed at any angle. That being said I won’t recommend this , ive had it for just about 6 months now and every time I use it rusty brown water comes out then clears , EVERY TIME .  I complained to the company, the customer service rep says the same thing occurs in the one that she has in her own house.  They are aware of this issue but will not do anything about it.

**Q: Does thos product help remove the iron in well water that causes everything , including hair, to turn orange??**
A: Thank you for your inquiry.  Activated carbon filters can remove low levels of sulfur sediment, manganese, and iron. However, maintenance and replacement of filter systems are very high because sulfur, iron, manganese and other suspended materials in the water soon clog the filter.  So, while it may reduce the iron, it will not completely eliminate it and may require more frequent filter changes.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Only buy one at a time

I've been using these filters for 15+ years, first when we lived with well water that had a great deal of iron and now on city water that is just very, very hard. Clearly, they work well or I wouldn't keep buying them. With the well, I changed them out every 6 months. Now on this hard city water, I need to change them out every 4 months. I believe it's because the water is so much harder than our well water was. When we moved to the city, w e took our filter and had an extra one, so they were the ones I usually bought, and they worked just like on the well water.. I mention this because if I hadn't had this experience if their lasting 6 months, I'd wonder about the quality of the product since they say they last 6 months. I would give 5 stars because this filter really works. My hair is a rat's nest on this hard city water, weighed down, looks greasy, gets smelly-dirty extremely fast, just gross. My skin is itchy...all that goes away with this filter. It's really a good product. However... I used to buy them in pairs, but the last purchase, the second one leaked. Read the one-star reviews, and I had a similar experience with filter #2, which I could not return because it was 4-5 months after my purchase. First the thing leaked and trickled water, then very soon began spurting water, and we went through that filter in a matter of a few months. Since then I only buy one at a time. I didn't contact cs for a replacement, so I don' know how that would have gone, but the 2025 1-star reviews don't look encouraging, so I continue to buy one at a time. Just in case. Beware! I never had this leaking happen 5, 10, 15 years ago...is this a new development in their quality, I've begun to wonder.
