Excellent quality notebook with convenient features (elastic band and ribbon book mark -- it also has a pocket in the back, but I do not use it). I recently purchased a second one of these journals, after using the first one for well over a year. They hold up well to being thrown in a bag, hauled around, checked often, and generally used. The paper is good quality, smooth, and thick enough that there are no bleed-throughs using fine tipped gel pen. The size is PERFECT for keeping important notes, but I would find it on the small side for regular writing use. Although the cover is thick, it still has enough give to it that I can keep many sticky notes on the pages, and also store a couple business cards, all while keeping it easily closed with the elastic band. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! The prices really do fluctuate on Amazon, so I used a price tracker to buy when the price dropped.

I originally bought this notebook since I wanted something small that I could take notes in. Low and Behold it became an invaluable object in my arsenal. I recently went to SXSW Screenburn interactive, and I needed something for Mojang's community manager to sign... Luckily I had brought this notebook along it is really good quality, it is made of high quality leather, it has a little string that allows you to keep it closed and there is even a ribbon inside to keep your place so that you don't lose it. Overall this is a magnificent product, and if you are looking for a good notebook I would go with this one. It is kinda small but I think that adds to the charm of this notebook.

I got this to carry around and take notes in. It is exactly what i wanted. Very small, so I can easily carry it in my pocket. I have a nice smartphone but nothing is as simple as paper when needing to jot down a quick note. I also write lyrics and draw ideas for tattoos in it. This is a great journal. Seems well made and feels like it will last. Very happy with it and it's a steal at the price. Will be buying two or three once this one fills up.

I've kept a pocket journal for 40+ years. I carry it in my back pants pocket every day. Few of them have finished the year intact. These real leather-bound notebooks have outperformed them all! Near to a year's end the bound note paper begins to separate a bit from the leather cover. Which is completely understandable, as I work, play, walk, bike and sit on them for 365 days a year! Not only tough, but a very nicely made notebook, nicely ruled on nice paper. Been using these for several years, and bought 3 extras for the coming 3 years. Highly recommend!

The pages are white, not ivory. I ordered it twice and this was true both times. I called CR Gibson and was told Amazon has not updated the incorrect description.

First of all, I adore this journal. I purchased my first pocket sized C.R. Gibson journal at a store, but the rest I bought from Amazon. Each journal has been a luxury: narrow lines, soft cream-colored pages, pocket in the back, delicate ribbon, elastic closure, and smooth, sturdy cover. The one I just purchased, however, feels and looks different from the others. The pages are white and the binding seems cheap. It’s not as flexible (but that could just be me forgetting what the other journals were like before broken in!). The corners aren’t as round. I noticed it says “made in India”, while the others were made in China. I’m still planning to use it, and who knows maybe I’ll end up liking the new version better. In any case, I still adore this little journal even if I’m not sure about the changes, and I would highly recommend it.

This is a great notebook if you need something that is pocket-sized to jot notes, sketches, etc. The bonded leather cover makes it look better than the common black moleskines that most people carry. My only complaint is the paper has a coating that makes it slightly "slick." This has caused some frustration since my favorite type of pens are ones with bold gel ink. When writing, I usually have to let a page "dry" before moving on, otherwise, it will smear. However, I have had the same problem with the similar moleskine notebooks. So, I cannot complain too much. Regular ball-point pens work much better.

This is a well made little journal. It has a bungee cord around it to keep it closed, and also has a pocket in the back to hold stamps or other small paper items. I got this Journal for a cousin, and I'm sure he will like its compact size and the look and feel of it. Over all it is a nice journal.

Small notebook, not pocket size though.

bought one 10-12 years ago if not longer, it was time to get another one, by chance happened to find it on Amazon . I was very happy and bought 2 the original one lasted for many years in good shape and if I didn't run out of pages I would not of looked for it on Amazon . I highly recommend this journal it is compact , durable and well made. J.K.
