Owner's manual for most important equipment: Your body
If you're serious enough about archery to be shopping for a book about it, look no further. This book has comprehensive scope, it is written with crystal clarity, and it is prodigiously illustrated. If your only mistakes AREN'T covered in this book, you probably read this book many years ago while training for the World Championships.I particularly enjoyed the way Mr. Axford gently debunked popular nonsense with scientific precision. I bought my copy used and the margins contained many notes by its previous owner reflecting her coach's lack of knowledge on the subject. I confess that Mr. Axford persuaded me to change my stance (literally) despite many years of research and stubborn debate on the subject.Aside from its incredible usefulness to archers, this book should be mandatory reading for technical writers in every field. It is a masterpiece.

No archery library should be without this book.
Hands down one of the very best books on archery anatomy I have ever read. It includes illustrations on the anatomy of both sexes and the impact of the different stages of the form on them. Also has many handy charts that aid in selecting the proper bow, etc. Truly a comprehensive and well structured book.

Analytical and detailed
Easy for me to read with detailed graphics and explanations. The words are best understood by someone with a handle on general anatomy. However it does state in the title itself that it is for Improved Performance and one would assume that there would be some understanding of your body in basic archery. Great reference books for my drawing and writing

Need to improve the standard of writing
This book is useful for the Sport science and the physical therapist more than the archer. Many technical terms should translate for layman term. It is difficult to read through the whole book. Moreover the figure number should identical. The author uses the same figure number the whole book make readers confuse such as Fig.1, Fig.2 and Fig.3. The figure should come before the content so readers can locate where the figure is. Please improve the writing style and make it standard. This book will helpful for archers indeed.
