It got really expensive and it also made the donkeys look really messy since they have a fluffier coat on their faces. I found this lotion and it has worked much better. The donkeys are pretty and free from flies. I do think it could be a tad thicker because my donkeys act like I am putting water on their head - they really don't like water on them. But with enough treats, they will accept anything. We live in the high desert - not a huge fly issue where we live fortunately.

We have been using the thicker ointment on our donkeys faces for a couple of years. It got really expensive and it also made the donkeys look really messy since they have a fluffier coat on their faces. I found this lotion and it has worked much better. The donkeys are pretty and free from flies. I do think it could be a tad thicker because my donkeys act like I am putting water on their head - they really don't like water on them. But with enough treats, they will accept anything. We live in the high desert - not a huge fly issue where we live fortunately.

Although this has a very potent smell to it, it does work as I rub it into my hands.And then rub it around my horse's eyes, ears and muzzle, and it does buy him a good amount of time that the flies don't bother him. He is a magician and will not keep his fly mask on.
