TRENDnet 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Switch, TPE-TG80G

Why I ordered this item: I run a few IP cameras and an access point outside my house and needed more PoE ports. This one has enough ports to run everything off one box. Likes: * I hooked up the cameras and the access point at the same time and the thing didn't even flinch. * It's got some real heft to it, metal case, feels like it could take a knock. * No fan means no noise. It sits in my closet and I never hear a peep out of it. * Setup was plug and play. I plugged in each device and watched the lights come on one by one, no config needed. * The port lights tell you PoE status. No likes: * It runs warm. Not hot enough to worry me, but I wouldn't stack anything directly on top of it. * There's no mounting bracket in the box, just rubber feet. I wanted to wall mount it in the closet and had to improvise. Would I pay full price for this product: Yes Final thoughts: This is a switch for someone running a handful of PoE cameras or access points who wants everything on one box.

I am running 4 Foscam cameras in my home from this POE switch. Love this thing. Saved me lot of money and time. Only having to pull Cat5e to each camera location. Two cameras inside the house have a POE splitter. No compatibility issues with the splitters. Two cameras are weather rated POE cameras. Plug them in and turned on with no issues. Make sure to place this switch in a location with ventilation . The switch will get warm. I installed stand-offs on the door of my date cabinet to make sure things do not shutdown. Have no issues with speed or connections. Have not configured for large packets.

There's something oddly reassuring when the power brick is much heavier and larger than the device it's powering. Seriously, this POE switch has plenty of power for connected devices (which is why the big brick!). Seems well made and worked 100% right out of the box. I'm using it to power 5 wireless access points, with room and power for a couple more. Follow-up 7-16-2018. Still going strong, about 3 months now. Note: some have commented about noisy fans. This is probably for the 16-port version. The 8-port switch that I have has no fans. Some have also commented about poor warranty service from TRENDnet. I'm hoping to not need to try this out! 2/13/2019 Still working just fine.

Was looking a long time for a good POE solution. Most of the affordable switches with POE, had only FOUR ports of POE and 4 regular gigabit ports. This solution needed to support my POE wired cameras. First thing I discovered is how much power POE pushes - around 13 watts of Power. This comes with POE+ and 30 watts of power per port. It also has ALL eight ports set up for POE+, and you can also hook up non-POE devices to this switch. Have it running successfully and very pleased at the performance and at the construction (nice metal case). It does not get really warm, and is power efficient. Have not tested full speeds as it plugs into a Gigabit system, but the cameras are only 10/100. Performance is the same on these with POE as when I had them hooked up to a 1 GB switch with no POE.

I purchased a refurbished 24 port version direct from TredNet and was greatly disappointed when the first one arrived DOA...no power, no nothing! Decided to give it a go again, next one arrived and came to life as it should. This replaced a standard gigabit switch in order to power new POE cameras and anything else i can throw at it. As for those that complain about the noise, it is NOT meant to be put in your bedroom next to your bed! It is a quality built switch. It has a HUGE power budget and you should expect it to take a couple of fans to keep the air moving so it stays reliable. I will up the is review after it runs for a while and I get the rest of my cameras setup. At this point I just have POE cameras, but have a couple of POE+ cameras en route that will test the per port limits it says it can handle. UPDATE 5/1/19--------------------- Brought review up to 4-stars as it has been running 24/7 for 2 months without an issue and pumping a few hundred GB through it daily between cameras and backups to a NAS. Hope it keps working (fingers crossed!)

Acheté car annoncé comme 5 ports POE+, il ne permet en fait d'alimenter que 1 port en POE+ (802.03at) ou 2 ports POE (802.03af) ce n'est indiqué que dans le guide de démarrage et nul part ailleurs. Bref c'est peut-être un bon switch, mais non conforme à ce que je cherchais.

Es el complemento perfecto para unas camaras ip. El dispositivo es del tamaño habitual de todos los "Swich". La fuente de alimentación es de un tamaño considerable. Como el de un pc portatil.

Je ne l'ai pas testé, il est arrivé sans les équerres de fixation donc inutile pour moi.
