Sharing Housing: A Guidebook for Finding and Keeping Good Housemates

This is a great book. It's got a million tips on how to rent rooms and so forth but, for me, there were two standouts that helped me immensely. First, Annamarie made a big point to say that grownups do better not living alone. This idea moved me from feeling that putting up living with another adult was just about needing to share expenses. It was about creating a real home. This was a big positive reason I'd never thought of before. I was also surprised to learn that home sharing is a growing trend. Second, after two disasters in selecting places to live, I realized that I'd been looking for real estate instead of looking for the right person. Once I shifted my focus and had at hand a list of topics Annamarie suggested going over with any prospective housemate, the decision was easy. My new housemate and I were delighted at finding so many values in common. Thanks, Annamarie.

I have been contemplating getting a housemate as I have more house than I need in a market that still hasn't recovered. Although I haven't made a final decision, this book really opened my eyes to things I would have never thought of. Well worth the money if you are thinking about going this route.

Nice book to help understand how to live with others in your home. Enjoyed reading this helpful book. Good read for anyone considering having a roommate.

This is one of the books you should read if you are new to finding roommates for shared housing. Even if you're experienced, I'm betting you are going to pick up a few valuable ideas. Very easy to read.

been thinking about sharing my house with one person. having a rentee is so cold. besides i'm a senior. would like a senior. there is aprogram in my county that searches for people to share your house with. they do everything. you meet them, talk, spend a week together,then decide if both of you want to continue. this book gave me many ideas and knowledge that i had not thought about in doing this.
