Didn't know the bags were scented, it's gross, but the design of the pail is nice
Bigger than I was expecting and I like the design. I didn't know the liner was scented so I have to find some that aren't because I hate fake smells. I thought maybe the whole thing had been sprayed so I washed the outside and wiped it down with a lavender essential oil but I could still smell that gross powder smell. So if I can smell that inside the trash I am sure I will smell the diapers. The design is nice, when it's full you pull the bag out and it has a cutter on the door and then you tie off the end of the bag instead of changing it like a regular trash. I looked into a lot of diaper pails from 30-80 dollar range and they all have pretty much the same pros and cons so I figured I'd go with the cheaper option that is still a good design. What is even the point of scented bags? Nothing will make the odor of a diaper smell better and when you put fake smells in the mix it's usually much worse. That's my fault because I didn't read the part where it stated they were scented. It's not totally hands free because while it has a foot pedal to open the lid, there is a little knob that you turn to unlock the hatch and then you shove the diaper in that way. You can leave the knob in unlock position, but I think it may be a bit more air tight if you leave it locked between uses. It's not a big deal though. Overall I like it.Edit:Still want unscented bags but this definitely keeps the smells in. When you live in a small apartment and you can leave for the day and come back and not smell poop then it's working. Holds A LOT

No embarrassing odors with this can. Excellent for incontinent seniors and children.
This contains the odor when you use the special bag insert. Easy to use. A little expensive but worth it to have no embarrassing odors floating thru your home.

Better than all the diaper genies I've used
I'm so glad I got this thing. I was a bit suspicious of how low the price was on this, but I went ahead and this has been great to have.I've been dealing with dirty diapers for 3 years. I've burned through 3 official "diaper genie" brand diaper genies in that time. The regular diaper genie is great for keeping the smell out when throwing away another diaper, but they've got too many moving parts that depend on small plastic pegs and posts, and eventually they jam too hard, wear out, get loose, and break. They're awkward to empty, change, and refill, and again, they jam CONSTANTLY.This thing is a little smaller, sure, but it is so much SIMPLER. It's just an outer lid with a trapdoor beneath, and a simple little cabinet door for emptying the bag. It has huge advantages over regular diaper genie models.-simpler design w less moving parts-more reliable operation-easier to empty-doesn't jam (meaning less need to shove your hand in to clear it)-wider bag gives more storage than you'd expectThe only disadvantage this has is that, when sticking in a new diaper, you will have the container open for a split second and may catch a tiny whiff of the bag. That's gone in a second, and when it's closed it doesn't let any smells out. This thing has really simplified my life and I wish I'd gotten one of these first.

So happy to switch from the Genie; however I prefer the Plus size
Comparison: Genie, Plus, Classic*I hope this review and photos are helpful! This is the review I wanted when trying to decide which Dekor to buy.We used the Genie for 21 months now and I'm glad to move on. The sleeves were annoying and so frequently had to shake/rock the unit around to get the diapers to drop. Occasionally, with a large, full diaper, I had to push it in. Yuck. This won't happen with a NB size, but a size 4, yes. Also, the Genie sleeves are a bit more costly.Plus: love it! The trap door is spring loaded for the right weight of a diaper and it closes very quickly. I thought the lower height might become a complaint of mine, but since I don't have to push the diaper in, it isn't an issue. My one and only complaint is that the bags are a noisy plastic when removing the bag (think grocery sack). Not really an issue, but I did frequently gather them after the toddler was sleeping. Easy to change my ways for the benefit of loving the pail! Other reasons to love:+price! ($32 Warehouse open box!)+replacement bag price+shape of canister+contains smell very well+sleek appearance+easy to remove bag+foot pedal+large trap door compared to Classic+lid can disassemble to become a garbage with a lid (I didn't verify this, but it was a bonus feature in my selection of Dekor)Classic:Same benefits as the Plus, except that the trap door is smaller. See pictures if this is important to you. It don't make a difference for a newborn, but I like the size for our size 5 toddler diapers! Also, the classic holds quite a few less diapers. It doesn't feel too much smaller than the Plus. I think you would be happy with either if you don't mind changing the bag a bit more often, and if the trapdoor size isn't an issue. I did not physically use this one since I plan to return it. I'm sure the door is large enough, but since there was a big difference between the two trapdoors, I wanted the larger. Refills cost the same per diaper capacity when I did the math.Overall, the Plus seems comparable to the Genie in capacity, is more user-friendly, contains the smell better since the trap door shuts so quickly with each use, and is more cost effective. And, it can be used as a garbage in the future. I'm a Dekor convert for sure!*I think you would be happy with the Classic as well, but no one wants to change them out anymore than you have to. See the pictures for size difference; the trapdoor size was the factor that swayed me to keep the Plus and return the Classic. I hoped the Classic would fit beside our toilet in the bathroom, but it is too large for the space. I may try the mini, though I would imagine the trapdoor will be somewhat small for pull-ups and toddler diapers. (Not a verified observation, just a guess)The last photo is the Genie compared to the Plus.

Perfect for stinky cat food cans 😻😻
This is a great product. We have indoor and outdoor cats that get some canned cat food daily. The empty cans smell terrible and they attract gnats to the trash. We use this pail for the empty cans instead of throwing them in the regular trash can. There is no smell in the house and no gnats or flies. All odors are contained within the pail. When it gets full, I use a bread twist tie to seal it instead of tying the plastic into a knot. Then I use another twist tie about 2 inches above that to seal the next bag. I cut between the two twist ties and remove the full bag. It’s easy to slide the next bag down and I put a paper towel between the bottom of the bag and the bottom of the pail. Everything stays clean and sealed. Completely odor free. The green refill bags fit perfectly and seem stronger than the clear ones.

Best Hands Down! Read me!
I love this! Keeps odor out! The bin doesn’t smell like dirty diapers either, so the bags do a great job and trapping odor. I love that it is hands free so you can just drop a diaper in the pail without having to worry about smearing poop on your hand. It’s the perfect size and ones of the more affordable options. Also super easy to change out the bags and I’m sure you could use regular trash bags, but I love the refill liners so much! Comes with an installed bag cutter and also ***transforms into a regular garbage bin*** so after your baby outgrows diapers you can remove the top portion and have a regular trash bin. I’d even think of keeping the top portion and just have it be a nice discreet garbage bin for a bathroom. I want to purchase a second one for my upstairs and I love that they have different size options. I’ve had the playtex diaper pail and that one holds in the odor! I smell poopy diapers and I change both Dekor and Playtex and the same time but playtex always stinks! And when changing the bag I can smell the odor in the bin with bag removed so I know the odor lingers. Also playtex bin isn’t hands free and you can smear poop all over your hands which is so gross. Just get the Dekor!

Best diaper pail
I purchased the diaper genie with our little one because they were the rave. However, it wasn't the best system. The smells were awful and we changed the bag every other day. The lid broke and the pull out door constantly would fall off. The bags are expensive and you go through a ton. I found this alternative and wanted to give it a try, since the reviews were great. I absolutely love this pail more than the genie. It keeps odors to a minimum and the bags are affordable. The only thing I don't like is that it's rather small, but it's great overall.

Convenient and Effective Diaper Disposal!
The Diaper Dekor Classic Hands-Free Diaper Pail is a game-changer for parents. Its hands-free operation is incredibly convenient—just step on the pedal, drop the diaper through the trap door, and you're done1. This feature is especially useful when you have your hands full with a squirmy baby. The triple odor control system is highly effective at keeping unpleasant smells contained, making the nursery a much more pleasant place. The pail is made from closed-cell ABS plastic, which doesn't absorb odors over time and is easy to clean.Another great aspect is the cost-effective refill system. The Dekor refills are designed to minimize waste, allowing you to use only what you need1. Plus, you have the option to use regular garbage bags if you run out of the branded refills.Overall, the Diaper Dekor Classic is a reliable and efficient solution for managing diaper disposal, making it a must-have for any parent. Highly recommended!

Not worth it and arrived with a broken hinge
It doesn’t capture odor as they claim and I was fooled by other reviews so I had to speak , bottom line it arrived with broken hinge and it makes diapers smells even worse , I use it now for used coffee ground only.

Delightful Diaper Disposal
This has been a very helpful item from our registry. It has been great with keeping in the diaper smell. It's a clever design and easy to remove and refresh the bags. This model does fill up quick. We go through about x8 size 1 Huggies a day and I find myself pulling out the bag about once a week.
