yes! their website even tells you this can convert to a trash can once the child is done with diapers. I'm using it as a litter pail and use tall kitchen garbage bags in it. Works great!

Is it exclusively for disposable diapers or does it work cloth diapers work too?

You probably could use it for cloth diapers but it would depend on how large your diapers are as the opening on top is quite small. If your diapers were larger, I also imagine that the bag would fill up quite quickly as the bag inside isn't too large. We use a combo of cloth diapers and disposables and use the Diaper Dekor for disposing of used wipes/disposable diapers and then use another container for the cloth diapers.

Are you happy with the size, or wish you had gone with the Plus (bigger size)?

I think this size is perfect. It forces you to change the bag out every few days (3-5 days) there for preventing odors. I don’t think the bigger one is necessary for 1 baby.

When you open this with the foot pedal, does the inner flap open as well or do you have to use your hand/the diaper to push it open?

The inner flap does not open but the weight of the diaper allows you to not have to use your hand to open it, the diaper just falls right in.....unless it's super light!
