Great Gochugaru for Kimchi!
Loved the Kimchi that I made with it. It tastes great and has authentic Korean flavor. It is not a very spicy chile product if you like heat so I added ground chipotle (dried jalapeno) which has a very similar scent and taste but kicked it up a lot! If the product is as it describes as far as not being from China then that is great as there are no U.S. Controls over food quality coming into our tables from China. I come from the southwest where we are deep into the thick of very well grown local Chile products. The price for these types of similar products are a bit less. The price thing is my only issue but would still buy it over the other products offered as it is a great addition to my chiles.

Great taste, but.......
If used for kimchi/kimchee it will not be a vibrant red like the other Chinese grown korean peppers. Its more like a dried blood/rust color. Otherwise good stuff.

My go-to gochugaru
Gochugaru is a mild-ish Korean pepper with really deep and earthy taste - think paprika mild but way more obvious flavor. Tastes even more intense than Aleppo pepper, but with far less heat. This brand is consistently fresh and appealing. They pack it in a zip-top bag that is very convenient. I use it in/on almost everything where I want an earthy, savory taste.

Good Quality
I chose this product only because I believe it would be of better quality coming from Mexico, rather than China. It seems to be consistent and the spiciness, for me, is just right.I can get 4 batches of kimchi / 3 quarts a piece out of one bag/using 1/2 cup per batch with 1 large head of Napa cabbage. It is definitely a wonderful probiotic and my guts tell the truth.

Strong but delicious
This is my first time using Gochgaru flakes. I bought it to make Kimchi Chigae, and the recipes I've found call for 1tbsp. However when use that much (plus I'm using Gochujang) the dish is way too spicy (for me, anyway). Even at 1tsp it's pretty strong. But I still love it!

didnt care for the flavor
didn't taste anything like the kimchi seasoning i ever had. kinda like stale chipotle with a hint of fish flavor, and i wasnt cooking fish. Definitely not close to Korean Chili Powder Gochugaru chili or authentic.

Wonderful flavor!
So good! I recently discovered I love kimchi and started making my own. This chili pepper has a lovely flavor and doesn't make me choke like cayenne. It's a little pricey IMO but worth it.
