Why did you pick this product vs others?: Disappointed that it has a deadlock style bolt instead of a regular door Bolt. Because of this there is no auto lock option. You must turn the knob to lock it each time you close the door. Other than that it seems to be very well made and easy to program. It's not at all hard to lock it when you close the door. I'll just have to remember to do it every time instead of it locking behind me automatically

It’s a perfect item specially for the young tenants no worries of forgetting the keys. Ease to install even to change codes. Great lock quality.

Some of the videos on youtube are not fair regarding the quality of this lock. The buttons are great, no way to feel or see a difference to open the lock or get to the inside of the touchpad. The key hole can be easily filled with putty and that will make it only usable with the buttons. But the lock could not be bumped or picked though the keyhole, which is easy for thieves to do these days, to all standard keyed locks. Inside, the parts are delicate and may not hold up for 20 years due to wear, but that is unknown now, I have only used the locks for over 6 weeks now. They are VERY convenient, out of the weather but outdoor use. It is a deadbolt, so the bolt goes much deeper than a typical latch and that requires some filing. I used a dremel and it works smooth and easy. Maybe not for a person that cannot use tools very well, but for a typical handy person this is perfect. The manual is okay, but there is a youtube video which shows how to install, and I found that helpful. First lock took an hour total, but the second took maybe 7 minutes to install. It is pretty big as you can see, but I put one on the top lock of a security door. I was going to put some wood behind it, but it is so sturdy I opted not to, just the lock. If it gets pried I am confident that the lock will be so messed up as not to open. Thus, foiling a thief.

The buttons will not push in and allow you entry into the house. It is defective and I cannot seem to replace it.

This lock is the best of both worlds. From a security standpoint, it replaces a standard knob type non-deadbolt lock with a deadbolt and integrates both a security key that can't be easily copied and a keypad (the main selling feature) that is 100% mechanical and requires no battery. The installation can be a bit tricky if you're a novice, but if you have a standard 12v or better drill and have or can purchase a spade or Forstner bit and are handy with a chisel, this should be a relatively simple install. I have installed on both internal and external doors and on both the lock's plate width is wider than that of the original lock, requiring either chiseling down of the door jamb and sometimes the door or else using the lock without the doorjamb plate (having the deadbolt simply extend into the wood of the door jamb). Pros--Increased security, keyless entry, difficult to copy security keys, deadbolt and price. Cons--Can be difficult to install for a novice or someone without power tools and the combination can be ascertained by someone who can disassemble the lock from the inside, width of plate needing affixed to doorjamb usually requires additional chiseling.

Image shows dimpled key but I recieved standard schlage keys with lock. Dimpled keys were the reason i bought it, more resistant to picking. Aside from the keys being different however the lock works well and i like that it doesn't require batteries.

Easy installation, works great, exactly as advertised, would recommend this to anyone that wants a mechanical lock.

Je m'en suis procuré 2 et je suis très satisfait. Relativement facile à installer et très facile d'utilisation. Achat pour mon cabanon extérieur et pour l'entrée du garage. Avant, j'avais des poignées à clé et j'oubliais quelquefois de barrer le tout et je n'avais pas toujours la clé pour débarrer à ma porté de main. Donc j'ai amélioré la sécurité des lieux à peu de frais. Les codes sont faciles à changer à l'intérieur de cette poignée. Et pas besoin de batteries, c'est mécanique !

Although setup is easy and construction seems OK, the buttons sometimes get stuck and then the only way to open the door is with the key. It happened often enough that I returned and went for an electronic unit.
