Poor Quality Control - plus a follow-up
All I want is a can opener that works.I remember this style from childhood - no frills, they just worked (for years and years). It may be the old style but it isn't as robust. I had to send this one back because the "spindle" was off-center. This meant it gripped (and cut into the tin) for only about 1/3 of a turn of the handle. It took multiple attempts to open the tin - and even then I had to prise it open.Ordered a replacement just in case I can get a decent one.So....The replacement arrived and I couldn't wait to try it out. Tin of rice pudding and a tin of cat food. Both opened without issue. TBH I can FEEL that the mechanism isn't perfect but it works and I hope it will continue working for some time. One happy chappie, so I've upgraded to four stars.

Awful
Awful awful awful this IS NOT made from stainless steel. Its such poor quality what is the point even trying to get a £5 refund. I mean its ok, we are only living in a cost of living crisis but hey keep selling duff products. This is made of zinc alloy. It snapped! Stainless steel would bend not snap an it's white inside. I know poor quality zinc alloy when I see it.DO NOT BUY AT ALL.

GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
Metal strength determines product longevity . In this case its simply not strong enough to undertake day - in day out use . Use it on a Can /Tin which has a deep ridge like a FRAY BENTOS STEAK FLAT can and you will understand better . Equally electric magnetic pierce- and- cutcan openers don't fare much better .There is an Opening for Mr Dyson( inventor - extraordinaire ) to come up with a product which is made from EN8 Steel with direct cutting -- Probably cost circa £ 40 but this illustration will save Client Money from these cheap entities which last only 5 Mins

Works well but seems weak .
Only used a few times it does work great I like the old fashioned ones however it seems very loose so not sure how long it will last .

Just Right
Our previous tin opener lasted for about 20 years. This one is identical with that one so I am expecting it to last for quite a while. Not used as much these days as before due to self openers on tins but there are still cans that require a manual opener.

Easy to use
Good quality, and unlike other modern can openers easy to use, after going through a couple of the new and so called improved and only managing to mangle the can instead of opening them this was a breath of fresh air

Traditional tin opener
Works better than a more expensive one I have, so I'm pleased with it.
