If you have an m.2 connector on your motherboard and fancy getting the fastest boot up time of your o/s then grab one of these. It not going to break any benchmarks, certainly compared to the top end competitors, but at some point those numbers just become theoretical. In real life using real life applications, you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference. There is a discernable difference between this and my existing ssd's, but it's not huge. The biggest advantage is the fact it frees up another sata port on my mobo, giving me the option of even more storage or perhaps adding a legacy device if needed. It comes well packaged and was simple to install, just make sure you retain the small screw from the motherboard when you open up the interface. Transferring data is as easy as migrating to any other ssd with some great free options available to help you through the process if you plan to move your o/s.

I do hope that you and your family have enjoyed your holiday and will return to work refreshed. I am so sorry to have bothered you with my issue, which is now resolved. My problem was that I was unable to physically install an upgrade M.2 2280 SATA SSD into the slot provided in the laptop. I had read all the instructions provided with the computer and watched several YouTube videos that made installation incredibly easy. It is a procedure that could be undertaken by a ‘non-professional’. But I had spent hours, over several days, trying to slot the SSD into the motherboard without success. All the time I was conscious that too much force was likely to damage the card and/or the computer. I watched a video this morning that made the installation clear. Every video showed the module being installed with the label facing UPWARD. It is now clear that I had been trying to install the SSD card UPSIDE-DOWN. The problem was my own lack of knowledge because when I placed the module into the slot, with the label facing downwards, the SSD slipped effortlessly into place. I guess that many people have made the same mistake as me and it seems a pity that the memory manufacturers and/or the computer company hadn’t made the installation process more clear. It was my fault completely. I am sharing this experience with LincPlus, Amazon and the SSD manufacturers in the hope that the process can be clarified to prevent similar misunderstanding. Finally, I want to record how very much I value and enjoy my LincPlus P2 Laptop, especially now it is upgraded with 240 Gb additional memory. I would highly recommend that this laptop is considered a really good purchase and value for money. Oh, and I am certain that the Kingston SSD M.2 SATA 2280 is a great choice and would have installed perfectly - had it not been subjected to "Operator Error". Sincerely, William Aldington

I got a few used items to serve as boot drives; despite this model being superseded already (twice!) - I think it is still a decent NVMe SSD in a sea of worse, newer drives. Firstly - ensure you update the firmware! This is important as the new one performs much better and its much easier with SSD empty in order to easily erase/revert/wipe it after the new firmware. The performance is greatly improved - it rivals the Samsung 970 EVOs I have - which are still almost 2x the cost! While this uses Silicon Motion controller and TLC flash, it does have DRAM (for both cache and flash management) and the TLC is 3D (96-layer) which is why it performs so well. Don't confuse this with DRAM-less SSDs. It is naturally PCIe 3 x4 and supports NVMe 1.3 but does not need HMB (host memory buffer) since it has DRAM. It's supposed to be a SED but I only had success with NVMe hardware crypto (aka BitLocker eDrive/E1667) on Lenovo laptops - but this is not where I use them. But password-protection should still encrypt the data in the flash - and if using BitLocker software you're basically doing it twice. All in all, there are not many cheap NVMe SSDs with DRAM and comparable performance. By all means go for Samsung if money is no object - but otherwise this is pretty golden.

My motherboard is old, so needed a firmware upgrade before it would boot from this. I also found it fiddly to install because of all the things in the way of the NVMe slot - I had to temporarily remove my network card to put this card in. Finally, my old motherboard isn't able to use this card at full speed. I found the Acronis software surprisingly difficult to use. Hopefully newer motherboards are better organised and have better support. After all that, the new card is fast and good value for money.

Mi laptop contaba solamente con un disco duro HDD lo que la hacia bastante lenta por los tiempos de lectura del mismo, por lo cual decidí modernizarla con esta M2 (Importante: Verificar el tipo correcto de M2 y que tu equipo posea la ranura para ello). Una vez que pase mi OS a la M2 el cambio fue muy evidente, desde la velocidad de arranque hasta la velocidad de ejecución de los programas. Estoy bastante feliz de los resultados, además de mencionar que la entrega fue muy rápida y en forma, la instalación de la misma fue sencilla. No es una opción económica como tal pero dado el tipo de memoria que es bien vale la pena el gasto. Si estas buscando cambiar tu disco HDD para mejorar la velocidad de tu máquina y tienes para gastar un poco más, si recomiendo ampliamente este M2.

I purchased this at 4700/- for 250GB variant, the main objective towards nowadays is to increase your boot up time and also read/write times when accessing data. It comes with OEM activation key for the Acronis OEM software. This software will allow you to clone the HDD to SSD. You have to install the software from www.kingston.com/cloning. Once you install it, you can't just clone the HDD to SSD if your HDD and SSD are in the same system. For me i have a HP 15 laptop and i wanted to clone my OS from HDD to SSD. Here's what i did; 1. Intalled the SSD on my laptop along with original HDD. 2. Create a bootable media on a pen drive using "Rescue Media Builder". 3. Restart your system by long pressing "Shift" key and select the pen drive as bootable drive. (Or you can do the same from system BIOS). 4. Once booted to Acronis True Image OEM software via Acronis bootable media, then the process is pretty straight forward. 5. Use the option to clone the HDD->SSD. You have to do all this as the Acronis software cannot clone the hard drive if any one of them is in active use. Hope this helps you, once done the performance is really brisk, i booted to OS in 15 seconds (This involves password entering) . Just go with it. Very good SSD!!

Le Kingston A2000 M.2 250 Go est un excellent SSD NVMe pour booster un PC. Installation facile, reconnu immédiatement, et les vitesses sont largement supérieures à un SSD SATA classique : démarrage ultra rapide, lancements d’applications instantanés et transferts fluides. Petit format M.2 très pratique, parfait pour un PC fixe comme pour un portable. Rapport qualité/prix au top, je recommande sans hésiter !
